How a feature buy works
Instead of waiting for scatter symbols to trigger free spins, you pay a price set by the studio, often around 100 times the bet, and the bonus starts on the next spin. The bonus then plays out at random like a triggered one.
Some studios publish a separate RTP for the bought bonus, sometimes slightly higher than the base game. A higher RTP does not make it cheaper to play: each purchase is a single large bet, so a session can be lost in a handful of buys.
Feature buys are not available everywhere: some regulators, including in Great Britain, do not allow them. Set the number of buys you will make before you start.
RTP of bonus buy slots
The highest headline RTPs among bonus buy slots are Revolvero by Red Tiger (98.11%), Le Prechaun by Hacksaw Gaming (97.52%) and Wild Wick by BGaming (97.35%). The average headline RTP across all 397 is 96.25%, and the lowest is 94% on FruitPunk.
42 of them (11%) are published in more than one RTP version, so the return depends on the version an operator runs. The widest gap is on Le Prechaun: from 97.52% down to 86.31%.
Volatility and max win
Volatility is published for 308 of the 397 games: 16 low, 55 medium, 84 high and 153 very high.
The largest published max wins are 500,000× on Tombstone Slaughter: El Gordo's Revenge, 300,000× on Tombstone R.I.P and 200,000× on San Quentin 2: Death Row. The median max win of the 278 games that publish one is 10,611×. A max win is a rare ceiling, not a result to expect.
