Sweet Bonanza 1000 review
The number in the title tells you what changed. Sweet Bonanza 1000, released by Pragmatic Play in 2024, keeps the 6x5 pay-anywhere candy grid and its tumbling symbols, but the multiplier bombs in the bonus can now reach 1,000x instead of stopping at 100x. The cap rises to 25,000x as a result. The trigger, the spin count and the buy options stay close to the family pattern.
Grid basics
The studio describes a six-reel, five-row grid. Any fruit or candy symbol that appears 8 or more times anywhere on it pays, no lines involved. Scatters, shown as lollipops, pay in any position too and are present on every reel.
Wins trigger tumbles. Paid symbols vanish, the others slide down, and new ones fill the top. A spin keeps tumbling until nothing new connects, with no limit on how many tumbles one spin can produce. The total from all of them is credited at the end of the base spin.
Free spins with bigger bombs
Four or more lollipop scatters award 10 free spins. During the round, three or more scatters add 5 further spins, so the feature can be extended more than once. Special reels are used throughout the bonus.
Multiplier symbols exist only in the free spins. Each one lands with a random value from this list: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x or 1,000x. It stays on the grid until the tumbling sequence ends. Then every multiplier showing is added up and the sum multiplies that sequence's total win.
The 1,000x value is the defining addition. Most bombs will still show the smaller numbers on the list, but a single top-value bomb in a decent tumble chain changes the size of a result by an order of magnitude. That is also why the bonus is so uneven: a round without big bombs can pay little, while one well-placed top value can carry the entire session.
Candy bomb multipliers
Free spins only. A random value between 2x and 1,000x is attached to each bomb, which holds its place through the tumbles. When the sequence finishes, all values are summed and applied to the win of that sequence.
Retrigger
Any free spin with three or more lollipop scatters adds 5 extra spins to the round. The rules set no cap on how often this can happen.
Ante and bonus buy
The bet multiplier has two settings. At 20x it is normal play. At 25x each spin costs 1.25 times as much, and in return the chance of reaching the free spins naturally is doubled; the buy feature is switched off while this is active.
With the ante off, the round can be purchased. Paying 100x the total bet starts the regular free spins with at least 4 scatters on the triggering spin. Paying 500x starts Super Free Spins, where every multiplier carries a value of at least 20x. That floor removes the small values from the list, which concentrates the round on bigger multipliers at five times the price.
Ante Bet
Raises the bet multiplier from 20x to 25x, a 1.25 times higher cost per spin, to double the natural chance of triggering free spins. Buying the bonus is not possible while it is on.
Buy Free Spins
Two prices: 100x the total bet for standard free spins, or 500x for Super Free Spins with multipliers starting at 20x. Both start the round straight from the base game.
The maths in money
The single listed RTP of 96.53% matches the official rules. It means a house edge of 3.47%, or about $34.70 per $1,000 wagered across a long run. A hundred spins at $0.20 cost $0.69 on average; at $1 it is $3.47 and at $5 it is $17.35.
The maximum win is 25,000x the bet, $5,000 at a $0.20 stake and $25,000 at $1. Pragmatic Play does not publish a volatility rating in our data. The 1,000x bomb makes the bonus more top-heavy than a list ending at 100x would, which is a conclusion from the rules rather than a published number.
Within the family
The 2019 original lists 96.48% and a 21,100x cap. Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter from 2025 sits at 96.51% with 50,000x. Among other 1000 editions, Gates of Olympus 1000 and Starlight Princess 1000, both from 2023, list 96.5% and 15,000x.
Pros
- Multiplier bombs reach 1,000x, ten times the family's previous top value
- Summed multipliers across each tumble sequence
- Super Free Spins buy with multipliers of at least 20x
- Free official demo available
Cons
- Large results depend on rare top-value bombs
- Super Free Spins cost 500x the total bet
- No published volatility rating
Verdict
Sweet Bonanza 1000 changes one number and it matters: bombs now reach 1,000x, lifting the cap to 25,000x. The rest of the formula, 8-symbol pay-anywhere wins, tumbles, 10 free spins and 5-spin retriggers, is unchanged. The RTP is 96.53% and volatility is not published. With a 3.47% house edge, treat it as paid entertainment, and try the free demo before considering the ante or the buys.
