Book of Panda Megaways crosses two ideas from BGaming's catalogue: the Megaways reel engine and the book-style bonus in which one chosen symbol expands. A single Scroll symbol acts as both wild and scatter, and it turns into a multiplier during free spins. The studio built the Chinese theme with designers from China. Its 97.07% RTP is the standout figure in this review, and the volatility is rated Very high.
One symbol, three jobs
In the base game the Scroll is both wild and scatter. As a wild it completes winning lines, and as a scatter it opens the free spins. In the bonus the same symbol becomes a multiplier. That keeps the symbol list short and makes the key rule easy to remember: watch for the Scroll.
The studio names the Panda and the Lotus among the iconic symbols. It adds that the sound is made up of serene melodies, though that detail does not change how the game pays.
How the free spins work
Three or more scatters anywhere on the reels trigger 12 free spins. If three or more further scatters land during the round, 12 additional spins are added. At the start of the round, one random symbol is chosen as the expanding symbol. It cannot be the scatter or a wild.
Expanding symbol
When the chosen symbol is part of a win, it expands to cover its whole reel. It also pays on reels that are not next to each other, so a win can be built from separated reels.
Multiplier symbol

Two optional extras change the cost of reaching the bonus. Chance x2 slightly raises the bet and gives more chances of starting free spins. Buy Bonus lets the player purchase the round at a price shown on the button, either with any expanding symbol or with the high-paying one only. The price adjusts automatically with the bet.
