Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter review
Pragmatic Play's 2025 return to the candy grid keeps the pay-anywhere rules of the original and bolts on one new idea: a second kind of scatter. A Super Scatter that helps open the bonus also pays an instant prize, and four of them at once are tied by the studio to the full 50,000x cap. Everything else, from the tumbles to the summed multipliers in the free spins, will look familiar to anyone who knows the family.
Clusters without lines
The grid does not use paylines. A win needs 8 or more identical symbols anywhere in view, and the studio's page says groups of 12 or more can return up to 50x the stake on their own. Reading a result is a matter of counting, not tracing lines.
After each payout the tumble mechanic takes over. Winning symbols are removed, survivors drop to the bottom and new candy fills the empty spaces from above. The cycle repeats while fresh groups keep appearing, with no cap on the number of tumbles, and the combined amount is credited once the last tumble of the base spin is done.
Two kinds of scatter
Regular scatters can land on every reel and pay in any position. According to the studio's description, 4 to 6 of them pay between 3x and 100x the bet. The Super Scatter is the new piece. It can also appear on all reels, and any mix of 4 or more regular and Super Scatters starts the bonus.
What makes the Super Scatter matter is the instant prize the studio attaches to it. If the free spins are triggered with one Super Scatter in the mix, the spin pays 100x the bet; two pay 500x, three pay 5,000x and four pay 50,000x, which is the game's whole ceiling in a single moment. These awards come from the studio's game page; the rules excerpt in our pack confirms the trigger role but not the prize table, so treat the figures as Pragmatic Play's stated values.
Super Scatter
A special scatter that can land on all reels in the base game and counts towards the 4 needed for free spins alongside regular scatters. Per the studio's page, triggering with one, two, three or four of them adds an instant 100x, 500x, 5,000x or 50,000x prize. It does not appear during the free spins.
Tumble Feature
Every winning group is paid and cleared, the remaining symbols fall, and new ones drop in to fill the holes. There is no limit on consecutive tumbles, and the base spin's total is added to the balance only after the final tumble.
Inside the free spins
The round starts with 10 free spins. Three or more scatters during the round add 5 more, so a lucky run can extend well past the opening allowance. Special reels are used for the feature, and the Super Scatter is removed from them.
The multiplier symbol only shows up here. Each one that lands picks a value from a fixed list: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x or 100x. It stays put until the tumbling sequence finishes; then all multipliers on screen are added together and the sequence's total win is multiplied by that sum. A sequence that ends without any multiplier pays its base amount.
One limit is written into the rules. If the round's total reaches 50,000x the bet, the feature stops on the spot, the win is paid and any spins left are forfeited.
Multiplier symbol
Free spins only. Each one takes a random value between 2x and 100x and holds its place until the tumbles end. All visible values are then summed and applied to the sequence's win, so two modest multipliers can combine into a far larger factor than either alone.
Paying to change the odds
Two optional controls change how the bonus is reached. Both cost more per spin or up front, and neither changes the house edge listed in our catalogue.
Ante Bet
The bet multiplier can be raised from the normal 20x to 25x, which makes each spin 1.25 times as expensive. In exchange the rules say the chance of triggering free spins naturally is doubled. While this mode is on, the buy option is disabled.
Buy Free Spins
Two purchase options exist. For 100x the total bet the standard free spins start, with at least 4 scatters landing on the triggering spin. For 500x the Super Free Spins start instead, a mode in which every multiplier symbol carries a value of at least 20x.
Return, cost and the cap
One RTP is recorded for this title: 96.51%, a house edge of 3.49%. Across a very long stretch of play that is about $34.90 kept per $1,000 staked. Over 100 spins the average cost is $0.70 at $0.20 per spin, $3.49 at $1 and $17.45 at $5. Short sessions scatter widely around those figures, which is the reason a fixed budget matters.
The 50,000x cap equals $10,000 at a $0.20 stake and $50,000 at $1. Pragmatic Play does not publish a volatility rating for the game in our data, but the shape is clear from the rules: base spins pay through clusters and tumbles, while the multipliers and the Super Scatter prizes put the bulk of the upside into rare events.
Within the franchise, the 2019 Sweet Bonanza lists 96.48% and a 21,100x maximum. Sweet Bonanza 1000 from 2024 sits at 96.53% with 25,000x, and Gates of Olympus 1000 from 2023 lists 96.5% and 15,000x.
Pros
- Super Scatter prizes of 100x to 50,000x add a second route to big results, per the studio
- Summed multipliers from 2x to 100x during free spins, with 5-spin retriggers
- A 50,000x cap, the highest figure among the listed relatives
- Free official demo available
Cons
- Most of the upside depends on rare events: multipliers or several Super Scatters
- No volatility rating is published in our data
- The Super Free Spins buy costs 500x the total bet
Verdict
This sequel keeps the candy grid simple and adds one meaningful twist: Super Scatters that pay an instant prize when they help start the bonus. The 96.51% RTP is in line with its relatives, the volatility is not published, and the 50,000x cap is a rare outcome rather than a plan. With a 3.49% house edge, it works best as paid entertainment on a set budget, and the free demo shows the pace at no cost.
