How cluster pays work
On a cluster pays grid, a group of matching symbols that touch each other pays, wherever it lands. The minimum group size is set by each game, often five.
Most cluster games remove winning clusters and drop new symbols in, so one spin can form several clusters in a row.
RTP of cluster pays slots
The highest headline RTPs among cluster pays slots are Le Prechaun by Hacksaw Gaming (97.52%), Fruit Party 2 by Pragmatic Play (96.53%) and Wild Beach Party by Pragmatic Play (96.53%). The average headline RTP across all 22 is 96.33%, and the lowest is 96% on Sugar Rush 1000.
2 of them (9%) are published in more than one RTP version, so the return depends on the version an operator runs. The widest gap is on Le Prechaun: from 97.52% down to 86.31%.
Volatility and max win
Volatility is published for 8 of the 22 games: 4 medium, 2 high and 2 very high.
The largest published max wins are 70,000× on Misery Mining, 44,288× on The Border and 41,127× on Pearl Harbor. The median max win of the 16 games that publish one is 10,000×. A max win is a rare ceiling, not a result to expect.
