Fruit Party 2 review

Fruit Party 2 is the 2021 sequel to a 2020 cluster slot,, and it puts its multipliers into the wilds. Winning clusters can leave a wild behind, the wild starts at 2x, and each time it returns after an explosion the value doubles. Pragmatic Play plays all of it on a 7×7 grid with tumbles and a bonus buy. The free spins use a steeper ladder, which is where the top multiplier of 729x lives.

Clusters and tumbles on 7×7

The game pays for connected groups of at least five matching symbols on a 7×7 grid. After a win, the winning symbols disappear, the rest fall to the bottom and new ones drop in from above. The tumbling continues until no further wins appear, and only then is the total added to the balance.

The wild substitutes for every symbol except the scatter. The multiplier wilds described below are generated by winning clusters.

The Random Wild Multiplier

A wild that first appears from a winning cluster carries a 2x multiplier, which applies to the wins of any future cluster it joins. After it takes part in a win and explodes, it may or may not appear again. If it does, it comes back with a larger value, and the studio lists the sequence as 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, 64x, 128x and 256x.

When more than one wild sits inside the same winning cluster, their multipliers are added before the win is multiplied. Two wilds that have each reached a high step therefore contribute together.

Free spins

Three or more scatters start the free spins. The number of scatters sets the number of spins, and the multiplier ladder is steeper than in the base game.

Scatter awards

Three scatters give 10 free spins, four give 12, five give 15, six give 20 and seven give 25. Three or more scatters during the round retrigger it with five more spins.

Wild multiplier in the bonus

In the free spins a wild from a winning cluster starts at 3x, not 2x. On later appearances it grows to 9x, 27x, 81x, 243x and finally 729x, tripling each time instead of doubling.

Buy Free Spins

The round can be bought from the base game for 100x the current total bet. The number of scatters on a purchase is random, from three to seven.

RTP, cost and cap

Fruit Party 2 has a 96.53% RTP, a 3.47% house edge and an average cost of $34.70 per $1,000 wagered. Over 100 spins the average loss is $0.69 at $0.20, $3.47 at $1 and $17.35 at $5. The maximum win is 5,000x the bet, which is $1,000, $5,000 or $25,000 at those stakes. Volatility is not published.

The cap is far below what the largest multipliers could produce on a big cluster, because the maximum win is limited to 5,000x the bet.

The original and nearby games

The first Fruit Party appeared in 2020 with a 96.5% RTP and the same 5,000x cap. Wild Beach Party, Sugar Rush and Sugar Rush Xmas list 96.53%, 96.5% and 96.5% respectively. Gates of Hades from 2025 raises the cap to 10,000x at 96.52%.

Pros

  • Wild multipliers double up to 256x in the base game and triple up to 729x in the free spins
  • Up to 25 free spins, with retriggers of five spins
  • Bonus buy available at 100x the bet
  • Free official demo available

Cons

  • No volatility rating published
  • The 5,000x cap limits the benefit of the largest multipliers
  • Bonus buy costs 100x the bet in one go

Verdict

Fruit Party 2 is a cluster slot where the wild is the engine: it starts at 2x and doubles up to 256x in the base game, then triples up to 729x in the free spins. The 96.53% RTP and 5,000x cap are close to the original. Volatility is unpublished and the 3.47% house edge applies to every spin, so the free demo is a sensible place to see how long the multiplier chains last.
