Jewel Rush review

Jewel Rush swaps lines for clusters. Gemstones fill a 7x7 board, winning groups vanish, and new gems fall in from above for as long as wins keep forming. The interesting part is the multiplier. In the free spins it can compound across overlapping wins and reach 256. Pragmatic Play released it in 2023, and the pack lists neither a volatility rating nor a maximum win, so the multiplier cap is the clearest ceiling on offer.

Clusters on a 7x7 board

Wins in Jewel Rush are formed by connected groups of the same gem, joined horizontally or vertically. The studio says five or more matching symbols are needed to form a winning cluster. The game has 8 symbols: 7 regular gems and one scatter.

After a win, the symbols in the cluster disappear and the ones above drop down. The new layout is played as another spin at no extra cost, and this repeats until nothing wins. Scatters do not tumble, and any free spins they earn are counted after all the tumbling has finished.

Multipliers that stack

Multipliers are what lift this game above plain cluster pays. The studio describes a multiplier that can appear when a cluster forms and grows with each further win it takes part in. In the official rules, the wording is slightly different: during free spins, each block involved in a win has a chance to carry a multiplier, and the win of that block is multiplied by the total value inside it.

If more than one multiplier lands in a block, they compound. The rules cap the multiplier at 256.

Block multiplier

In the free spins, blocks in a win can carry a multiplier. Several multipliers in one block compound, up to a 256 maximum. The studio adds that multiplier values are tripled for each win they are part of during the bonus.

Free spins and retriggers

Three or more scatters in the base game award 10 free spins. In the round, three or more scatters add more spins, and the number rises with the count: 3 scatters add 10, 4 add 11 and 5 add 12, continuing in the same pattern. The sheet does not give a cap on the number of retriggers.

Cost of a session

The RTP is 96.47%, so the house edge is 3.53%, or about $35.30 per $1,000 wagered. A 100-spin session costs $0.71 at a $0.20 bet, $3.53 at $1 and $17.65 at $5 on average.

No volatility label and no maximum win in money are published. For a cluster game with compounding multipliers, a result that varies widely is plausible, but that is an inference from the rules, not a figure from the pack.

Alternatives with a similar RTP

Sugar Rush Xmas (2023) and Sugar Rush (2022) list 96.5% with 5,000x. Down the Rails lists 96.51%, Wild Beach Party 96.53% and Wild West Gold Blazing Bounty 96.48% with 7,500x. Gates of Hades from 2025 lists 96.52% and 10,000x.

Pros

  • Tumbling clusters on a 7x7 board
  • Multipliers compound inside a block, up to 256
  • Free spins start at 10 and retrigger with extra spins
  • Free official demo available

Cons

  • No volatility label or maximum win in our data
  • Studio text and official rules describe the multiplier differently
  • Multipliers are tied to the free spins, so the base game carries less of the value

Verdict

Jewel Rush is a tidy cluster game whose appeal rests on compounding multipliers in the free spins. The 96.47% RTP gives a 3.53% house edge, and the unpublished volatility means the demo is the best guide to its streakiness. A 256 multiplier cap is stated, but there is no maximum win figure, so avoid assuming a top payout.
