Wild Wild Riches Megaways review
This 2023 Pragmatic Play release is the Megaways remake of the studio's own Wild Wild Riches from 2020. It keeps the Irish-luck theme but trades fixed reels for variable-height ones, reaching 117,649 ways at most. The interesting part is the order in which things must land: wilds on the first two reels, then money symbols or a bonus symbol further along. The studio quotes a top prize of 10,000x, a figure our catalogue does not carry.
How a spin pays
The rules describe a 6x7 screen where the height of each reel changes from spin to spin. Wins are paid for three or more identical symbols in a row from left to right, and the studio puts the ceiling at 117,649 ways.
The symbol set has 14 entries: 11 regular symbols, one wild, one scatter and one money symbol. The wild stands in for everything except the scatter. The scatter itself pays nothing and only matters as a trigger.
Wilds, money and jackpot values
Most of the base-game excitement comes from a short chain of symbols. Wilds on reels one and two open the way, and money symbols on the reels after them add cash values. Because the money symbols sit on reels three to six, a full result needs several parts of the board to line up in one spin.
Money symbols
These land on reels three to six. On every spin each one takes a random value from a preset list. The studio's page gives that range as 1x to 20x the bet. Landing them together with wilds on reels one and two is how the cash prizes are collected.
Jackpot values
Reel six can also show fixed prize values of 25x, 50x, 100x or 250x the bet. The studio's text lists them next to the money symbols, as a higher tier of prize values.
Win multipliers
Random multipliers of 2x, 3x or 5x can apply to the total win. The studio text is not consistent here: one passage places them on reel six, another lists them on reel five. Check the in-game paytable for the exact reel.
The free spins round
To start the bonus, the scatter must land on reel three while wilds sit on reels one and two. After the win is paid, a wheel awards between 6 and 20 free spins. The player may then gamble the whole award for a chance at the next level of spins, or start playing straight away.
Extra wilds and money symbols are present on the reels during the round. A new wild, wild and bonus combination retriggers the feature and adds six more spins. The studio says this can happen without a limit, which means the round can run long, but each retrigger still needs the same specific pattern.
