Candy Blitz Bombs review

Candy Blitz Bombs is the second game in its family in our catalogue, following Candy Blitz from 2023. Pragmatic Play keeps the pay-anywhere tumbling format and adds bomb symbols that feed a multiplier reel which never resets during the bonus. The result is a game where the free spins round is the main event and the base game is the way in. The cap is 5,000x, half of what the earlier release lists.

Pay anywhere with tumbles

No paylines are involved. A win needs at least eight matching symbols anywhere on the screen. Once a win is paid, the winning symbols vanish, the others drop to the bottom, and new symbols fall in from above. This repeats until a fall brings no further win, and the balance is credited only after the last tumble of the base spin.

The rules also mention an extra reel that shows multipliers. The text explaining its base-game role is cut off in our data, so we describe it only through the bonus below.

Free spins and the multiplier reel

Four, five or six scatters start the free spins and award 10, 12 or 14 spins. The studio's page says only that the scatters award up to 10 spins, which does not match the rules text. We follow the rules and flag the difference. Three or more scatters during the round retrigger it for 5 more spins.

The key change is that the multiplier reel does not reset between spins. Its multipliers grow by 1 after every tumble until the round ends. Bomb symbols that land add their multiplier to the running progress, and the studio says the smallest bomb starts at 2x. The longer a round and its tumble chains run, the higher the multiplier climbs, which is why a round with many tumbles holds far more potential than a short one.

Multiplier reel

Carries across all free spins without resetting and rises by 1 after each tumble. Because tumbles happen often in a pay-anywhere game, the reel's growth is tied directly to how long each spin's chain lasts.

Bomb symbols

Bombs that land during the round add their own multiplier to the current progress on the reel. According to the studio the lowest bomb value is 2x.

Buy Free Spins

The round can be bought for 100x the total bet. The triggering spin shows four, five or six scatters at random, so the number of free spins is decided by chance.

The numbers

One RTP is on record, 96.49%, a house edge of 3.51%, which means about $35.10 lost per $1,000 wagered. One hundred spins cost about $0.70 at $0.20, $3.51 at $1 and $17.55 at $5 (a total of $500 wagered). Volatility is not published.

The maximum win is 5,000x the bet, equal to $1,000 at $0.20, $5,000 at $1 and $25,000 at $5. The original Candy Blitz from 2023 lists 96.08% and 10,000x, so the sequel offers a slightly higher RTP and a lower ceiling.

Comparable games

Aztec Powernudge from 2024 shows 96.46% and 5,000x. Gates of Olympus lists 96.5% and 5,000x (2021), Aztec Smash 96.52% and 9,000x (2024), Monster Superlanche 96.03% and 5,000x (2023), Wisdom of Athena 1000 96% and 10,000x (2024), and Gates of Olympus 1000 96.5% and 15,000x (2023). At 5,000x the cap sits in the middle of this group.

Pros

  • Multiplier reel carries over between free spins and grows after every tumble
  • Bomb symbols add to the running multiplier
  • Retrigger of 5 spins for three or more scatters
  • Free official demo available

Cons

  • The cap of 5,000x is half that of the original Candy Blitz
  • Volatility is not published
  • Bonus buy costs 100x the bet
  • Studio page and rules differ on the free spin count

Verdict

Candy Blitz Bombs is a pay-anywhere tumble slot where the free spins hold most of the potential, thanks to a multiplier reel that never resets and bomb symbols that add to it. RTP is 96.49%, the house edge 3.51% and the cap 5,000x; volatility is not published. It suits players who like chain reactions that build over a round. Try the free demo first and treat the bonus buy as an expensive option.
