Monster Superlanche review
Monster Superlanche is a pay-anywhere slot in which towers of monsters matter. A win needs eight matching symbols anywhere on the screen, winners tumble away and new characters drop in. In the bonus, stacks of at least five identical symbols earn the multiplier shown above the reels, and any multipliers won are kept for the whole round. Pragmatic Play caps the game at 5,000x the bet and sells both an ante bet and a bonus buy.
Eight anywhere, then tumble
There are no paylines. The official rules say a win needs at least eight matching symbols, counted anywhere on screen, and the studio describes a cast of monster symbols. After a win, the studio says winning symbols are removed and new characters fall from the top, which gives another chance to win in the same spin.
The rules phrase the tumble differently: winners lock in place while non-winning symbols disappear and the rest fall. The two descriptions are not the same, and the rules do not say which one governs the live game. In both versions the tumbling continues while new winning combinations form.
The free spins and the multiplier meter
Four, five or six scatters anywhere on screen trigger 8, 12 or 20 free spins respectively. The studio confirms that four are needed to enter the bonus. One line of the rules also mentions three scatters giving three spins, which looks like part of a different mode, so we do not treat it as the standard trigger.
In the round, winning symbols are held in place. Five or more of them need to sit on top of each other, and they then award the multiplier displayed at the top of the reels. Whenever a multiplier is applied to a win, its value is also added to a total multiplier meter, and when a new multiplier arrives, the meter total is added to that spin's multiplier. The studio says multipliers are held throughout the bonus and are the key to the 5,000x cap.
Total multiplier meter
Each multiplier applied during the free spins is also added to a running meter. A new multiplier then adds the whole meter value on top of itself for that spin. This makes later multipliers worth more than early ones, which fits the studio's statement that they are key to reaching the cap.
Ante Bet
The bet multiplier can be set to 25x instead of the normal 20x, which makes the total bet 1.25 times the normal one. At the higher setting more scatters sit on the reels, so the free spins arrive more often naturally, and the Buy Free Spins option is switched off.
Buy Free Spins
The round can be bought for 100x the current total bet. On the triggering spin, four, five or six scatters hit at random, so the size of the opening award is not chosen. It is a paid shortcut to the bonus, not a cheaper route to the same result.
What the numbers say
The only RTP on record is 96.03%, a house edge of 3.97%. That equals about $39.70 lost per $1,000 wagered. In 100 spins the average cost is $0.79 at a $0.20 bet, $3.97 at $1 and $19.85 at $5, which is $500 wagered.
The maximum win is 5,000x the bet, or $1,000 at $0.20, $5,000 at $1 and $25,000 at $5. No volatility label is published.
Alternatives
Aztec Powernudge (96.46%) and Candy Blitz Bombs (96.49%), both from 2024, have the same 5,000x cap with a higher RTP. Cyclops Smash (96.06%), Candy Blitz (96.08%) and Candy Jar Clusters (96.08%) reach 10,000x from 2023, and Wisdom of Athena 1000, from 2024, lists 96% and 10,000x.
Pros
- Multipliers are kept through the whole free spins round and feed a running meter
- Pay-anywhere wins need no paylines
- Ante bet and bonus buy are both available, though not together
- Free official demo available
Cons
- Studio and rules describe the tumble differently
- No volatility label is published
- Ante bet raises the bet multiplier from 20x to 25x
Verdict
Monster Superlanche is a tumbling pay-anywhere slot whose potential sits in the free spins, where stacked symbols award multipliers that accumulate on a meter. The 96.03% RTP gives a 3.97% house edge, the cap is 5,000x and volatility is not published. The ante bet and the 100x bonus buy shift how the bonus is reached, not the house edge. Judge the pace in the free demo first.
