Gator Hunters review
Up to six revolvers sit loaded on the reels in Gator Hunters, and they fire only when a spin would otherwise come up empty. Nolimit City sends a group of hunters into the swamp after a legendary alligator, and builds the game around that idea: a 6x5 pay-anywhere grid, Eaters that turn whole symbol types into wilds, bullets worth anything from 2x to 2,000x, and four free spins tiers that hand out upgrades. The cap is 25,000x.
Pay anywhere, then drop
Six columns of five rows make up the board. A win needs 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on it. Winning symbols are removed and new ones fall into their place, so one spin can pay several times in a row.
The published hit frequency is 17.23%, roughly one spin in six. That low rate is deliberate: the two signature features are designed to act on spins that would otherwise pay nothing.
Eaters and Revolvers
Both features step in on dead spins, and the Eater gets the first chance.
Eater
Only one appears at a time, on a spin without wins. A normal Eater picks a random symbol type, removes every instance of it and turns them into wilds. The Super Eater does the same, but its wilds carry multipliers of 2x, 3x or 10x, which are added together on the wins they help form.
Revolver
When a spin has neither a win nor an Eater, any Revolvers on the grid spin their cylinders. Each lands on a bullet or an empty chamber, and bullets add to a total win multiplier applied to that spin. Up to 6 Revolvers can be active. Bullets are colour-coded, from purple at 2x to 8x up to white at 1,000x to 2,000x.
Super and Super Fire Revolvers
Two stronger versions of the Revolver use escalating rules for extra rolls of the cylinder. The Super Fire type is the most powerful; in the top bonus tier it replaces the Super Revolver entirely, and one of the buy options turns every Revolver into a Super Fire version loaded with 1,000x and 2,000x bullets.
Four tiers of free spins
The number of Bonus symbols sets the tier. Three give 10 Swamp Spins with one upgrade. Four give 12 Frenzy Spins with two upgrades. Five give 15 Gator Spins with three upgrades. Six give 18 Apex Predator Spins with all four upgrades, and here Super Revolvers are swapped for Super Fire Revolvers.
The upgrades are extra bullets worth 2x and 10x, the Super Eater and Super Revolvers. In every tier the total win multiplier persists for the whole round, but it only applies on spins where a Revolver lands on a bullet. Landing 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 Bonus symbols during the round adds 3, 5, 7, 10 or 15 more spins.
Every mode ends when the spins run out, or at once if the win reaches 25,000x, an event the studio calls The Hunter Becomes The Hunted.
The buy menu
Gator Hunters has a long list of paid options, and each one changes the cost of play considerably. Prices are quoted as multiples of the bet.
The Bonus Booster costs 2.5x the bet per spin and is linked to the bonus reel. Revolver Roll costs 90x and gives an active Super Revolver whose multiplier is paid against the base bet, with no other symbols in play. Super Fire Spins cost 400x and use a Super Fire Revolver with five bullet colours and no Bonus symbols. Massacre Spins cost 1,200x and turn every Revolver into a Super Fire version with 1,000x and 2,000x bullets. An Extra Spin option, priced from the current multiplier and remaining Revolvers, lets you keep them for one more spin if the cost is no higher than the win.
At 1,200x the bet, a single Massacre purchase costs more than the average loss on tens of thousands of normal spins at the same stake. That comparison is worth keeping in mind before using any of these buttons.
Numbers for the budget
The single RTP is 96.11%, so the house edge is 3.89%, around $38.90 per $1,000 wagered in the long run. On average, 100 spins cost $0.78 at $0.20, $3.89 at $1 and $19.45 at $5. Volatility is Very high, so expect results far from those averages in both directions.
The 25,000x ceiling is $5,000 at a $0.20 bet and $25,000 at $1. It is the rarest possible outcome, not a target.
