True Kult review
True Kult starts as a standard five by three slot with 243 ways and an occult theme. It becomes unusual when two scatters appear. A sixth reel opens, the ways rise to 729, and wilds and multipliers start to land on it. The bonus rounds then add moving frames that split symbols in two. Nolimit City rates the volatility Very high, and its own page uses the word Extreme.
Reel six is the key
In the base game the grid is five reels of three rows, and wins pay left to right across 243 ways. Two or more scatters open a sixth reel, which lifts the count to 729 ways. Everything interesting in the base game happens on that extra reel or because of it.
The base game has three named features.
Baptism By Fire
A stacked symbol lands and reveals either a high paying Devotee symbol or a Scatter. In the bonus rounds the same feature can reveal a Skull Wild instead of a Scatter.
True Believer Wilds
Three of these wilds are stacked on reel six. Low paying symbols on reels two to five turn into Wilds, and the stack then becomes a Devotee symbol.
Tarot Multipliers
These sit on reel six and carry values of 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 50x or 99x, attached to a Devotee symbol. In the Sacrifice round the unused multipliers are sticky and carry on to the next spin.
The Seance and Sacrifice Spins
Three scatters start The Seance with seven spins. Three All Seeing Eye frames move over reels two to five and split every symbol inside them, so one symbol can count twice. Reel six stays open for the whole round. A Skull Wild adds one spin and one more frame.
Four scatters start Sacrifice Spins with ten spins and four frames. A Scatter landing on reel six during The Seance upgrades it to Sacrifice. Tarot multipliers that are not used are kept, which makes this the round with the most stored potential. Both rounds end when the spins are done or the 23,237x cap is reached.
Buying a ritual
Three direct purchases are available: The Seance costs 68 times the bet, Sacrifice 400 times and a Lucky Draw 234 times. An xBet toggle also raises the stake in return for better odds of the bonus rounds, though the studio text gives no price for it. The studio does not list a free demo, so the buy prices are best judged against the average cost shown below.
Return, volatility and money at stake
The RTP is 96.06%, a house edge of 3.94% and $39.40 lost per $1,000 wagered. Our catalogue labels the volatility Very high and the studio says Extreme; both are published. Hit frequency is 26.93%, a little more than one spin in four.
Over 100 spins the average loss is $0.79 at $0.20, $3.94 at $1 and $19.70 at $5. The top win of 23,237 times the bet equals $4,647.40, $23,237 or $116,185 at those stakes.
Peers at Very high volatility
Little Bighorn lists the same 96.06% with a 25,676x cap, and Bizarre matches the RTP with 20,000x. AFK Airport Security shows 96.07% and 19,693x, Disorder 96.11% and 23,500x, and Apocalypse Super xNudge 96.03% and 20,000x. xWays Hoarder 2 lists 96.14% and 25,920x.
Pros
- Hidden sixth reel lifts the ways from 243 to 729
- Tarot multipliers of 5x to 99x are sticky in the Sacrifice round
- Two bonus tiers, with seven and ten spins
- Three buy options between 68x and 400x
Cons
- Very high volatility means long stretches without a notable return
- No free demo is listed on the official page
- Moving frames, stacks and a sixth reel make the rules heavy to learn
Verdict
True Kult is a high-variance slot where the main value sits in the Sacrifice round and its sticky Tarot multipliers. The 96.06% RTP leaves a 3.94% house edge, the hit frequency is 26.93% and volatility is Very high in our catalogue and Extreme in the studio's words. A small bet and a firm time limit make more sense here than any chase for the 23,237x maximum.
