Outsourced 2 - Balkan Engineering review

Outsourced 2 - Balkan Engineering is a Nolimit City sequel with a long list of moving parts. Winning positions carry multipliers that grow with every respin, a nudging wild can climb to 999x, and a row of purchase options lets you pay for everything from a boosted trigger chance to a high-stakes chase of the maximum win. This review keeps to what the studio's rules sheet states and leaves out the rest.

Print Spins and position multipliers

The grid has 4 reels and 5 rows, and wins are ways paid from the left. The core loop is Print Spins. Winning symbols are paid and removed, and the empty winning positions are respun. Each position that wins gains +1 on its own multiplier for every Print Spin, and the loop continues until a respin brings no win.

In effect the board remembers where wins happened. The same position can pay more each time it wins within the chain, which is a different idea from a single multiplier for the whole spin.

Infectious xWays

Reveals a regular paying symbol of size 2 to 4, or a blocker symbol that pays nothing. Every other copy of the revealed symbol is infected to the same size. If more than one lands, they reveal the same symbol, and the sizes multiply.

xNudge Balkan Wild

Can land anywhere. It nudges and adds +1 to its multiplier with each nudge, up to 999x, and several of them add together. The rules say it may malfunction and act as a plain 1x1 wild.

Tilt Spins and the Elevator

Three bonus symbols start Tilt Spins with 4 spins. Four bonus symbols start Tiltier Spins with 7. Position multipliers from the base game are kept when the bonus begins, so the build-up is not wasted.

The Elevator is a special symbol with two roles. In the base game it can award an instant bonus or turn out to be a blocker. In the bonus it adds 1, 2 or 7 spins, or becomes a blocker. Another symbol set, B/O/O/M, pays the maximum 11,111x instantly, which the studio calls Big Szukcess.

The buy menu

There is no ante bet. Instead the game sells a menu of paid options, each priced as a multiple of the bet and each aimed at a different part of the game.

Bonus Booster and Balkan Bonus Booster

The first costs 1.35x the bet and puts a bonus symbol on top of the second reel from the left; the sheet says it raises Tilt Spins odds by more than three times. The second costs 13.5x and adds a bonus symbol on the first spin and on win respins, with odds listed as more than 20 times.

Print Spins 3x, 6x and 8x

These cost 15x, 200x and 750x. They start every position on the grid with a 3x, 6x or 8x multiplier before the first spin.

Filthiest Spins and God Mode

Filthiest Spins costs 999x and delivers 7 spins with every position starting at 2x. God Mode costs 1,111x and chases the B/O/O/M outcome. The studio sheet does not say how likely that is.

Numbers and the cap

The RTP is 96.04% (house edge 3.96%), or about $39.60 per $1,000. A 100-spin session costs $0.79 at $0.20, $3.96 at $1 and $19.80 at $5. The hit frequency is 24.59%, and the volatility is Very high.

The maximum win is 11,111x the bet: $2,222.20 at $0.20, $11,111 at $1 and $55,555 at $5. Nolimit City offers no official free demo for this game in our data.

The first Outsourced and other Very high titles

The original Outsourced lists 96.08%, Very high volatility and a 5,000x cap, so the sequel more than doubles the ceiling. Elsewhere in the same volatility band, Supersized lists 12,345x, Beheaded 15,950x, Punk Rocker 3 19,089x, Stockholm Syndrome 28,873x and The Crypt 2 31,248x. Their RTPs run from 96.03% to 96.1%.

Pros

  • Position multipliers grow with each Print Spin and carry into the bonus
  • Several ways to buy in, from a 1.35x booster to a 999x bonus
  • Raises the original Outsourced cap from 5,000x to 11,111x
  • Hit frequency of 24.59% is listed

Cons

  • Very high volatility
  • Many rules and buys to learn before the numbers make sense
  • The sheet gives no odds for God Mode or the instant 11,111x outcome
  • No official free demo listed

Verdict

Outsourced 2 - Balkan Engineering is a dense, bonus-oriented game for people comfortable with Very high volatility. The 96.04% RTP is close to the original's 96.08%, but the cap is more than double. With a 3.96% house edge and prices as high as 1,111x the bet, the most expensive options carry real cost, so treat them with caution.
