Poison Eve review
Nolimit City sends this one into the forest of Pandora, where a character called Eve distils potions from the vines of the Tree of Enchantment. Three features carry the game: wilds that always stretch over a whole reel, a base-game event that turns potion bottles into top symbols, and a portal bonus triggered from the last reel. Notably, the volatility is Low even though the top prize reaches 6,091x.
Vines and bottles in the base game
The slot is a 5x3 payline game, paid left to right. The rules do not print the number of lines. Symbols include glowing ivy, letters and potions.
Two modifiers shape the base game, and they hit in different ways. One is common to every wild; the other needs Eve herself to fill the first reel.
Expanding Vine Wilds
Whenever a vine wild lands anywhere on the grid, it expands to cover its entire reel. That raises the number of positions that can complete a payline.
Liquid Magic
If Eve lands fully stacked on reel one, every different potion bottle visible on the other reels turns into the matching top-tier character symbol. The rules put the potential at up to 2,000x the bet from this single event.
Flower Power: the portal bonus
The main bonus is tied to a Hot Zone on reel five. A bonus symbol landing there opens a magic portal on the leftmost reel. Extra bonus symbols during the feature open more portals across the other reels.
Each time a symbol lands in the Hot Zone, it fills all open portals at once, and that symbol type then expands over the reels. The rules do not give a fixed number of spins, describing it as a portal feature instead, and the text we hold ends before the full explanation. What the studio does say is that the portals are meant to fill the reels with expanding symbols.
Flower Power
Triggered by a bonus symbol in the reel-five Hot Zone. A portal opens on the leftmost reel, and more bonus symbols open more portals. A symbol landing in the Hot Zone fills all open portals and expands across the reels. Eve herself can pay up to 2,000x in total.
Where the return comes from
The catalogue lists an RTP of 96.08%, a house edge of 3.92% and about $39.20 lost per $1,000 wagered. The rules sheet also mentions 94.35%, which is another published version an operator may run. It splits the 96.08% as 27.76% from the main game, 21.01% from Liquid Magic and 47.32% from Flower Power.
That split is useful. Nearly half of the return sits in Flower Power, which arrives about once in 116 spins, and a win of 100x or more about once in 505. Hit frequency is 21.29%, so around one spin in five pays.
Session costs and the ceiling
A hundred spins at $0.20 cost $0.78 on average, at $1 they cost $3.92 and at $5 they cost $19.60. The max win is 6,091x the bet: $1,218.20 at $0.20, $6,091 at $1 and $30,455 at $5. There is no bonus buy, so the portals have to be earned by the reel-five trigger.
Low volatility peers
Coins of Fortune lists 96.48% and 6,015x, close to this game's ceiling. Golden Genie And The Walking Wilds shows 96.03% and 9,583x, Gaelic Gold 96.15% and 9,837x and Warrior Graveyard xNudge 96.16% and 9,797x. Fruits and Hot 4 Cash cap at 2,910x and 2,154x. All carry a Low rating.
Pros
- Expanding Vine Wilds always cover the whole reel
- Liquid Magic can reach up to 2,000x in the base game
- Low volatility with a 21.29% hit frequency
- Max win of 6,091x, or $6,091 at a $1 bet
Cons
- Flower Power arrives about once in 116 spins, and almost half the return depends on it
- No bonus buy
- No free demo listed in our catalogue
Verdict
Poison Eve builds a Low volatility slot around expanding wilds, a bottle-transforming base feature and a portal bonus that carries nearly half of the return. The RTP is 96.08%, a house edge of 3.92%, with a top prize of 6,091x. That mix suits steady, small-stake play, though the strongest outcomes still depend on a feature seen about once per 116 spins. Set a budget first.
