Alice WonderLuck review

Few slots let you choose how the bonus will play before it starts. BGaming's Alice WonderLuck, released in March 2025, does exactly that: before the free spins, you can draw up to nine special cards, each carrying a different perk. Around that sits a surreal dreamland of keyholes, playing-card suits and redesigned storybook characters, with Alice herself watching from beside the reels.

Keyholes and characters

The game runs on 50 lines. The low symbols are the four card suits, Clubs, Spades, Hearts and Diamonds. The high symbols are modernised versions of the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, the Caterpillar and the Cheshire Cat.

Mystery keyhole symbols are the main extra in the base game. They are described as revealing hidden surprises when they open. For a higher bet, the studio's Mystery SpinUP mode makes Mystery symbols drop on every spin.

Building your own free spins

What makes the free spins unusual is the preparation. Each time, before the round begins, the player can draw up to nine cards with bonuses on them. The studio names four kinds of reward: extra spins, multipliers, high symbols that turn into Wilds, and low symbols replaced by Mysteries until the round ends.

There is also a gamble. A brave player can risk the free spins for the chance of more bonuses, but a bad outcome means losing the free spins altogether. The studio calls this controlled risk, though it is still a way to give up a bonus that has already been earned.

Bonus cards

Up to nine cards can be drawn before the round starts. They can add spins, add multipliers, convert high symbols into Wilds or swap low symbols for Mysteries until the end of the round. Which cards appear is random, so each free spins round plays differently.

Gamble on free spins

An optional step that puts the free spins at stake. The outcome can bring more bonuses or remove the spins entirely.

Buy Bonus

The studio says there are two Buy options. One triggers the free spins immediately; the description we hold cuts off before the second is explained.

Top prize: two sources, one picture

Our catalogue does not publish a max win for this game. The studio's details panel lists a multiplier of x10,000 and a maximum win of 250,000 euros, without saying which bet that is based on. The x10,000 figure also appears in the title of its page. We pass them on as BGaming's statements.

RTP and cost

The only RTP on record is 97%, a house edge of 3%, and the catalogue and the studio agree on it, as they do on the Very high volatility. Over a long run that costs about $30 per $1,000 wagered. In 100 spins the average cost is $0.60 at $0.20, $3 at $1 and $15 at $5, which is $500 wagered.

Similar BGaming games

Doomsday Saloon, Fiesta Clusters and Merge Up 2 are also listed at 97% and Very high from 2025, as are Aztec Clusters and Lucky Dragon MultiDice X from 2024. Sakura Riches 60 is slightly higher at 97.16%.

Pros

  • Up to nine bonus cards shape each free spins round
  • 97% RTP, a 3% house edge
  • 50 lines with characters designed for the game
  • Free official demo available

Cons

  • Very high volatility
  • The optional gamble can remove free spins already earned
  • No max win in the catalogue, only the studio's x10,000 and 250,000 euros

Verdict

Alice WonderLuck is a feature-heavy slot with a 97% RTP and Very high volatility. Its distinctive idea is the card draw before the free spins, though the optional gamble adds risk to a bonus already won. The house edge of 3% costs about $30 per $1,000 wagered. The studio's x10,000 figure is a ceiling, not a typical result. The free demo is a low-cost way to see how the cards work.
