Xmas Drop review
Xmas Drop is a seasonal slot, and the studio's own pitch is a single line about the time of year for dropping presents. Underneath, it is a five-by-five payline game with a Medium volatility label. Two wild symbols do most of the work, and two bonus modes are chosen by how many scatters land together. The catalogue lists four RTP versions, so the headline figure is only part of the picture.
Santa and the gifts
There are 19 lines, read from the leftmost reel across adjacent reels. The Wild Santa is the key symbol. It stretches downward to the foot of its reel, but only when the longer symbol would help complete a win. A Santa that stays small is one wild; an expanded Santa is wild in every cell it covers. A reel can hold only one Santa at a time.
The Wild Gift supplies the multiplier. When a stretching Santa passes through a Gift, the whole expanded symbol takes a multiplier anywhere from 2x to 200x. If a win contains several multiplied Santas, their values are summed first and the total is then applied to the win.
Two ways into the bonus
The number of free spin scatters picks the mode. Our mechanics data lists no free spins for this game, yet the studio's rules describe both modes below, so we follow the rules.
Night Before Xmas
Three scatters landing together give 10 free spins and raise the odds of Wild Santas and Gifts compared with the main game. Three more scatters inside the round add 4 spins. Four scatters inside it move play on to the second mode once that spin ends.
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
Four scatters start it with 10 free spins. A Wild Santa landing on a reel switches that reel on, and the reel then receives a Santa on each remaining spin. Three scatters during the round add 4 spins.
Extra options
The game includes an ante-style choice and five bonus-buy variants, among them versions with two or three Wild Santas. The material we hold gives no prices for these, so none are quoted. Read the price on the buy screen before using one.
Version by version
RTPs on record: 96.22% (the headline), 94.27%, 92.32% and 88.02%. Matching house edges are 3.78%, 5.73%, 7.68% and 11.98%. The studio's rules page carries a placeholder instead of a figure, so a given site's version cannot be read from our data.
Per $1,000 staked, the average cost climbs from $37.80 to $119.80. Take 100 spins at $1: $3.78 at the top version, $11.98 at the bottom. At $5 a spin the same run costs $18.90 or $59.90. The ceiling is 12,500x, worth $2,500 on a $0.20 bet, $12,500 on $1 and $62,500 on $5.
Medium games with similar returns sit lower on the ceiling. Vending Machine lists 96.28% and 5,000x, and Magic Piggy OG lists 96.2% and 2,500x. Next to those two, the cap here is high for a Medium rating.
Pros
- Medium volatility paired with a large top prize
- Gift multipliers range from 2x to 200x and are summed within a win
- Two separate bonus modes, 10 spins each at the start
- Best version returns 96.22%
Cons
- The weakest listed version returns only 88.02%, an 11.98% house edge
- Ante and buy costs are missing from the data we hold
- Our catalogue lists no official demo
Verdict
Xmas Drop pairs a Medium rating with a 12,500x ceiling, a higher cap than the Medium games it is listed beside. Expanding Santas and summed Gift multipliers keep the rules short. At 96.22% the house edge is 3.78%, but the lowest listed version carries 11.98%, so check the figure the game shows before staking anything, and treat it as paid entertainment.
