Kill Em All review
Kill Em All does not behave like a normal slot. There is a single row of three reels, and the aim is to land weapons that take lives from a queue of monsters. Nolimit City turns the spin into a small combat game, where kills drop chests, bosses hand out permanent upgrades and the biggest buy-in costs 2,500 times the bet. It is aimed at players who want an intense, high-swing design.
Combat on one row
The grid is three reels by one row. This is not a ways or payline game: the rules describe weapons hitting a monster, a monster with lives, and chests that pay. A weapon hits by its hit value, and a critical hit removes 3 lives. Hits left over after a monster dies do not carry to the next one.
Every symbol that is not an X triggers a respin, so a spin often continues. If three non-X symbols land on the same spin, the player gets 5 respins. The X symbol is the blocker: it does not trigger a respin.
Monsters, bosses and chests
Monsters wait in a queue, and the 4th, 8th and 12th of them are bosses. Killing a boss awards level-up features together with chests. A chest always pays, and it can also carry a multiplier of 2x to 5x the bet, a respin, a scatter, an upgrade, a doubling, a shrink potion or a silver sword.
Level-up features
Sticky multipliers of x2 to x5, extra chests, a weapon upgrade (up to level 4), a chest upgrade, a golden sword and an Attack x3 boost. A player can hold up to 3 at once, or 4 in Domination Spins, and no more than 2 of the same kind.
Total Annihilation
The name for reaching the 11,916x cap or the last monster. The studio uses it for the maximum win.
Dungeon Smackdown and Dungeon Domination
Three scatters start the Dungeon Smackdown Spins, which give 5 spins, and the progress made in the base game carries over. A weapon landing in the round adds 1 spin. Two scatters plus a Super Scatter start the Dungeon Domination Spins, also 5 spins, with the same +1 for weapons and room for a fourth level-up. Both rounds end when the spins run out or when 11,916x is reached.
Scatters can also come from chests, and a bonus inventory stores them, which links to the buy options below.
The buy menu
Buying is part of the design, with prices from 2.2x to 2,500x the bet. The two smallest add a scatter or a Super Scatter to the inventory, for 2.2x and 4x. Boss Fight costs 15x and starts at the first boss with 1 life, while Boosted Chest costs 70x and gives the highest chest on each kill.
At the top are the God Modes. God Mode costs 2,500x and the spin begins at the last monster, who has 9 lives. God Mode Nightmare costs 800x and gives 5 spins at that last monster, again with 9 lives and no respins.
The numbers
The RTP is 96.06%, a house edge of 3.94%, about $39.40 lost per $1,000 wagered. The hit frequency is 16.74%. In 100-spin sessions a $0.20 bet costs about $0.79 on average, $1 costs $3.94 and $5 costs $19.70. The maximum win is 11,916x, which is $2,383.20 at $0.20, $11,916 at $1 and $59,580 at $5.
Volatility is Very high in our catalogue, while Nolimit City's page text says High. The 11,916x cap and the buy prices both suggest a design built for large swings. Supersized lists 96.07% and 12,345x, Karen Maneater 96% and 11,757x, and Blood Diamond 96.14% and 14,780x, all Very high.
Pros
- Original combat structure on a three-reel, one-row grid
- Boss kills give permanent level-up features
- Max win of 11,916x the bet
- A wide buy menu from 2.2x to 2,500x
Cons
- Volatility is Very high in the catalogue and High in the studio's text
- The God Mode buys cost 800x and 2,500x the bet
- The rules are layered, with many chest and level-up outcomes
- No official free demo is recorded in our data
Verdict
Kill Em All is a distinctive Nolimit City design with a 96.06% RTP, a 3.94% house edge and an 11,916x ceiling. The catalogue lists Very high volatility, the studio says High, and either way the buy prices and respin chains point to large swings. Fans of mechanics-heavy games will find plenty to read through, but it is paid entertainment, and a firm budget matters more than any feature.
