Das xBoot 2wei! review
Das xBoot 2wei! sends the submarine crew back out after more than four years submerged, with a boat the studio calls stealthier and deadlier than before. The sequel layers three systems on a six-reel grid: xBomb Wilds that clear space and build a multiplier, a Periscope that stretches reel 3, and a Torpedo Builder that assembles splitting Wilds from parts. Three bonus rounds combine them in different ways.
Grid and sonar range
The starting layout is 2-3-4-4-3-2, which works out to 576 ways from the left according to the studio page. Features can push it as far as 2-4-8-5-4-2. A Binocular sits over reels 5 and 6 and watches for boats, which is what starts the Torpedo Builder.
Hit frequency is 21.75%, so about one spin in five pays something. Most of the larger outcomes come from features lining up rather than from plain symbol wins.
Three weapons systems
Each feature can fire in the base game and returns, stronger, in the bonus.
xBomb
A Wild that substitutes for everything except the Bonus. When it lands it blows up the non-winning symbols, sparing Bonus symbols and Wilds, and adds 1 to the win multiplier before the collapse. New symbols then fall into the gaps. In the free spins the xBomb multiplier carries over and keeps growing.
Periscope Up
Grows reel 3 to 8 positions and places a Periscope Wild there. If a connecting win on reels 1 and 2 meets the Wild, a torpedo shot fires; on a hit the Wild nudges to full height and gains a multiplier per step, while a miss leaves a single Wild. It triggers randomly in the base game.
Torpedo Builder
A full boat in the Binocular gives 3 spins to fill four torpedo parts on reels 2 to 5, with reels 1 and 6 closed. Each part adds 1 to 3 xWays or a Ways Wild, and the launch reveals the splits. A golden boat starts the Golden Torpedo Builder, where the rules list part values of +8 or +88.
Silent Hunter, Wolf Pack, Battle of the Atlantic
Bonus symbols can land on all six reels. Three award 8 Silent Hunter Spins, with Periscope Up switched on for every spin and the xBomb multiplier rising by 1 each time for the rest of the bonus.
Four award 9 Wolf Pack Spins. A torpedo tube under reels 2 to 5 comes preloaded with size-2 parts, parts leave Wilds behind, and a boat launches the current torpedo and then reloads an identical one. The Periscope can still trigger at random.
Five award 10 Battle of the Atlantic Spins, which combine the always-on Periscope with the Wolf Pack torpedo tube, again with an accumulating xBomb multiplier. In every mode an extra Bonus symbol adds 2 spins. After the free spins an Extra Spin can be offered, priced from the multipliers and torpedo progress, when that cost is no more than the total win so far.
Boosters and the price list
There is no classic xBet; four boosters replace it. The Bonus Booster costs 1.5x the bet and places a Bonus symbol on the reels. The Periscope Up Booster costs 8x and triggers Periscope Up. The Torpedo Booster costs 20x and starts the Torpedo Builder. The Golden Torpedo Booster costs 4,500x and starts the golden version, a very large amount for a single spin.
None of these change the long-run return; they change how much is staked on one outcome.
Numbers and the first voyage
The RTP of 95.94% gives a 4.06% house edge, about $40.60 on each $1,000 played over a long period. That is slightly below the original's 96.03%. A 100-spin session averages $0.81 at $0.20, $4.06 at $1 and $20.30 at $5.
