Bushido Ways xNudge review
Swords do most of the work in Bushido Ways xNudge. Wilds are sliced into several positions, a tall Geisha wild nudges down the third reel and adds to a win multiplier, and a samurai-themed transformation upgrades low symbols into the best one on the board. Nolimit City builds all of this on a 5 by 4 grid that starts at 1,024 ways and can grow far beyond that. The cap is 30,000x the bet.
1,024 ways, then more
The grid has five reels and four rows, and matching symbols pay from left to right. The base figure is 1,024 ways. The official rules say this can expand up to 12,288 ways through sliced wilds and other expansions. The studio's headline blurb quotes 24,576 instead; since the longer rules text and the rules agree on 12,288, that is the figure we use.
There are no tumbles or respins. All the movement in a spin comes from wilds changing shape, which makes it easy to see where extra ways come from.
Swords, geisha and transformation
Four mechanics define the base game and carry into the bonus rounds.
Sliced Wilds
Single wilds can land on reels two to five, except where a Bonus symbol sits. On reels three, four and five they are sliced into two, three and four wilds. In free spins the wild first copies downward to the bottom row, and the slice follows, so the result is much larger.
The Wild Geisha (xNudge)
A wild four rows high that lands only on reel three. It always nudges until it is fully visible, and every step of the nudge adds 1 to the win multiplier. It is also the key to the better of the two free-spin modes.
Oni Transform
Triggers when a Bonus symbol lands together with stacked Samurai. The Samurai become the best paying symbol visible on the reels, and lower stacked Samurai are upgraded to that same symbol.
Shogun Spins and Geisha Spins
Three Bonus symbols start Shogun Spins: eight spins, plus one for each extra Bonus symbol at the trigger. The game places at least one single wild on reels two to five on every spin. If the Wild Geisha lands during the round, it upgrades the feature to Geisha Spins, and the extra spins awarded equal the multiplier she has reached.
Geisha Spins can also be triggered directly when three Bonus symbols land together with the Wild Geisha. The round starts with eight spins, and extra Bonus symbols add one each. Every Geisha nudge adds a sticky multiplier that stays for the round, and at least one wild always appears on reels two, four or five. Shogun and Geisha rounds both end when the spins finish or at The Journey's End, the 30,000x cap.
Buying in
The Nolimit Bonus Buy offers both modes directly. Shogun Spins cost 75x the bet and Geisha Spins cost 700x. The jump in price shows how much more the studio values the Geisha round. At a $1 bet that is $75 for the first and $700 for the second, before any outcome is known, so it is a heavy commitment compared with a normal spin.
