Reactoonz 2 review
Gargantoon and his band of aliens return for a second trip into outer space, and Play'n GO keeps the grid format of the first game. Winning clusters are cleared and replaced from above, but the sequel's real subject is energy. Fluctuating symbols feed one meter, Electric Wilds feed another, and a full charge brings out the largest wild. The catalogue rates the game Very high for volatility, and it lists five different RTP versions.
Clusters, not paylines
This is a grid slot. When aliens form a winning cluster, they are transported into another dimension, which opens space for new aliens to drop in from above. The studio's page does not state the grid dimensions or how many matching symbols make a cluster, so neither is given here.
The description also leaves out free spins, a bonus buy and any max win. We therefore describe only what the studio explains: a base game in which the meters and wilds carry the whole design.
The wild ladder
Each feature feeds the next one. The order below is the order in which the studio presents them, from a random pick to the biggest wild.
Fluctuating symbol
In each round, one of the one-eyed aliens is chosen at random to fluctuate. That choice sets which symbol matters for the energy chain, since wins made with a fluctuating symbol are what create the wilds that follow.
Electric Wilds and the Fluctometer
Winning with fluctuating symbols produces Electric Wilds. These fill the Fluctometer, and the studio says the meter also charges any wilds that are not yet charged. Energy therefore builds from repeated wins, not from a single lucky symbol.
Quantameter and Energoon Wilds
Electric Wilds also charge the Quantameter. A partial fill adds Energoon Wilds to the grid, which means the meter pays out in steps and does not wait for a complete charge.
Gargantoon Wilds
A full Quantameter unleashes the biggest wilds of them all, named after the alien leader. The studio publishes no multiplier values or win figures for these wilds, so their exact worth cannot be stated.
Five RTP versions
The headline RTP is 96.2%, a house edge of 3.8%, which averages out to $38 lost per $1,000 wagered. Four lower versions are recorded: 94.2% (house edge 5.8%, $58 per $1,000), 91.2% (8.8%, $88), 87.2% (12.8%, $128) and 84.2% (15.8%, $158).
Over 100 spins, a $0.20 bet costs $0.76 on average at the headline version and $3.16 at the lowest. At $1 a spin the figures are $3.80 and $15.80, and at $5 a spin, or $500 wagered, they are $19 and $79. Volatility is Very high, so real sessions can differ widely from these averages.
The original and the 2020 neighbours
Reactoonz 2 has one sibling in the catalogue, the original Reactoonz from 2017, listed at 96.51% with Very high volatility. Its headline figure is higher than the sequel's.
Six games with similar numbers all date from 2020 and are rated Very high. 24k Dragon, Annihilator, Leprechaun Goes Wild and Testament each list 96.2%, the same as Reactoonz 2. Rich Wilde and the Shield of Athena lists 96.25% and That's Rich lists 96.27%.
Pros
- A layered wild system where fluctuating symbols, Electric Wilds and the Quantameter feed each other
- Partial Quantameter fills still add Energoon Wilds
- Headline RTP of 96.2% with a 3.8% house edge
- Free official demo available
Cons
- Five RTP versions, down to 84.2%, where $1,000 wagered costs $158 on average
- Very high volatility
- No max win, grid size or free spins details in our sources
Verdict
Reactoonz 2 turns a cluster slot into a charging puzzle, where wins with a randomly chosen alien build meters and the meters bring wilds of growing size. The 96.2% headline RTP is in line with its 2020 peers, though the lowest version falls to 84.2%, and Very high volatility means long dry stretches are normal. It costs $38 per $1,000 wagered at the top version, so treat it as paid entertainment and watch the meters in the free demo first.
