Reactoonz review
Reactoonz is a 2017 Play'n GO grid game filled with cartoon aliens. Clusters of five or more matching creatures pay and disappear, new ones fall in, and every win sends energy to a giant alien waiting at the side of the board. When he is fully charged he jumps onto the grid as a wild and sets off a run of extra features. Behind the cheerful art sit Very high volatility and five RTP versions.
Clusters on a 7x7 board
The playing field is a square of 7x7 positions. A win needs at least five matching aliens joined together, and bigger clusters pay more. Flux capacitors act as wild symbols and help link groups that would otherwise fall short.
Aliens in a winning cluster are removed straight away and replaced by new ones dropping from above. The replacements can form fresh clusters, so a single round can pay several times before the board settles.
Charging up the giant
The game is built around a background meter. Every winning cluster passes energy to Gargantoon, the oversized alien parked on his base. Long cascade chains therefore matter twice: they pay, and they move the meter closer to full.
Oversized aliens
Larger versions of the regular aliens can land on the grid. When one becomes part of a winning cluster it can multiply the prize, according to the studio. The size of the multiplier is not stated in our source.
Gargantoon's Quantum Leap
Once the energy meter is full, Gargantoon grows and leaps onto the middle of the grid, where he acts as a wild. His arrival sets off a chain reaction of up to five features that aim to create more winning clusters. The studio does not name or explain those features in the text we hold.
Pick your RTP carefully
Play'n GO publishes Reactoonz at five settings: 96.51%, 94.51%, 91.49%, 87.5% and 84.51%. The difference is not cosmetic. The house edge climbs from 3.49% to 15.49%, which turns into roughly $34.90 versus $154.90 lost per $1,000 wagered. The middle versions cost about $54.90, $85.10 and $125 per $1,000.
In session terms, 100 spins at $1 average a $3.49 cost at the top version and $15.49 at the bottom one. At $5 the two figures are $17.45 and $77.45, and at $0.20 they are $0.70 and $3.10. The game's information screen shows which version is running.
Volatility is listed as Very high: expect long gaps between meaningful wins and outcomes that bunch together. No maximum win is published in our data.
The sequel and its peers
Reactoonz 2 arrived in 2020 with a 96.2% RTP and the same Very high rating, a little below the original's top version. Other Very high Play'n GO slots with nearby figures include Iron Girl from 2018 at 96.7%, Multifruit 81 from 2017 at 96.55% and Honey Rush from 2019 at 96.5%.
Who should try it
Reactoonz rewards patience more than bet size. Its main draw, the Gargantoon charge, fills through repeated cluster wins, and Very high volatility means a session can pass without the meter ever filling. A small stake and a set limit fit that pattern. The free demo shows how quickly energy builds.
Pros
- Cascading clusters on a 7x7 grid keep each round moving
- Winning clusters charge Gargantoon for a chain of up to five features
- Free official demo available
Cons
- Lowest RTP version is 84.51%, a 15.49% house edge
- Very high volatility
- No published max win, and the five features are not described in our source
Verdict
Reactoonz builds a meta-game on top of a 7x7 cluster grid: every winning cluster charges Gargantoon, who eventually leaps in as a wild and fires off up to five features. Its best version returns 96.51%, but the 84.51% setting costs over four times as much. With Very high volatility and no published ceiling, it is best approached through the free demo and a firm budget.
