Goat Getter review

Goat Getter by Push Gaming sends determined goats up the steepest mountains in search of prizes. The rules are organised around Coin Pot symbols, each carrying an instant prize value, and around a goat that gathers them. The catalogue lists two RTP versions, 96.4% and 94.39%, and has no release year, volatility label or max win. That makes the choice of version the first thing worth knowing, before any of the features.

Coin Pots and instant prizes

A Coin Pot is a symbol with a prize value attached. Landing ten or more of them pays those values at once, without needing a line or a cluster.

Two further mechanics build on the pots, described below.

Coin Drop

The feature starts when six or more Coin Pots are on the screen and no further wins are available. Mystery Boxes then fall in from the top. Each box can reveal a Coin Pot, a Bonus Symbol or a Dud Symbol, so a drop can add value, move the game towards the free games or reveal nothing.

Goat symbol

When the goat lands, it collects every Instant Prize from Coin Pots in view and adds a step to a progression meter. Five goat symbols reach a new level and earn an additional free spin.

Free games and the Gamble Wheel

Three or more Bonus Symbols in the base game trigger the Free Games Feature. The last Bonus Symbol decides how many free spins are won.

Once that number is set, the Gamble Feature can appear. A Gamble Wheel shows prize segments that offer more free spins than the one just won, plus segments with no prize. The wheel holds segments with no prize as well as better ones. The studio text does not say whether the gamble is optional or what a no-prize result does to the original award, so we leave that open.

Two RTP versions

The headline RTP is 96.4%, a house edge of 3.6%, or about $36 lost per $1,000 wagered. A second version at 94.39% raises the edge to 5.61% and the cost to about $56.10 per $1,000. The studio notes that the RTP can vary by operator and can be read in the game's information panel and on the loading screen.

On 100 spins the two versions differ clearly. At a $0.20 bet the average loss is $0.72 or $1.12, at $1 it is $3.60 or $5.61, and at $5, for $500 wagered, it is $18 or $28.05. Checking the version before playing is worth the few seconds.

Alternatives

Bison Battle, Blaze of Ra, Dinopolis and Fish 'n' Nudge are all listed at 96.4%. Our catalogue records no volatility or max win for these, so RTP is the only figure to compare.

Pros

  • Coin Pots pay instant prizes when ten or more land
  • Coin Drop can add pots and Bonus Symbols after the last win
  • The goat's progression meter earns extra free spins at every fifth symbol
  • Free official demo available

Cons

  • A 94.39% version exists, with a 5.61% house edge
  • No release year, volatility label or max win in our catalogue
  • The Gamble Wheel includes segments with no prize

Verdict

Goat Getter combines instant-prize Coin Pots, a Coin Drop and a progression meter with a free games gamble. Its most important number is the RTP version: 96.4% costs about $36 per $1,000 wagered, while the 94.39% version costs about $56.10. Volatility and max win are unpublished, so check the version in the game panel and try the free demo to learn the rhythm before staking.
