Queen of Gods review

Queen of Gods draws on Ancient Egyptian imagery, with Anubis and Horus among its symbols. It is a ten-payline game with no tumbles, respins or bonus buy, so the design is easy to read. Its single bonus round is where the character is: wilds stick in place with their multipliers until the last free game. Pragmatic Play released it in 2022.

A plain base game with two kinds of wild

Wins form on ten paylines, read from left to right across adjacent reels. The studio says both ordinary wilds and multiplier wilds replace all other symbols, and it names them as the key to reaching the 5,000x maximum win.

There is no ante bet, no bonus buy and no respin or cascade mechanic in the rules. To reach the feature you have to wait for it, which makes the free games the main event.

Free games: sticky wilds and multiplier boxes

Three scatters trigger the Free Games feature. Before the round starts, the game spins a 3 x 3 reel window to work out the total number of free games, and the whole thing is played as one round. The rules say retrigger is not possible, so the count set at the start is final.

During the round, wilds are sticky: they stay in the same position, with their multiplier, until the last free game. That means a multiplier wild that lands early keeps working for the rest of the round. The rules also describe a Multiplier Box feature, with three boxes above reels 2, 3 and 4, but the text we hold cuts off before explaining how the boxes work, so we do not describe them further.

Free Games

Triggered by three scatters. A 3 x 3 window is spun first to determine the number of free games. No retrigger. Wilds are sticky and keep their multiplier until the last free game.

The maths

RTP is 96.38%, a house edge of 3.62%. On average, $1,000 wagered costs about $36.20. A hundred spins cost $0.72 at a $0.20 bet, $3.62 at $1 and $18.10 at $5.

The top prize is 5,000x the bet: $1,000 at $0.20, $5,000 at $1 and $25,000 at $5. The catalogue does not publish a volatility rating. Because the multipliers and sticky wilds only operate in the free games, a session in the base game alone has little route to that ceiling.

Neighbouring games

Cleocatra lists a lower 96.2% with the same 5,000x cap. Colossal Cash Zone, Happy Hooves and Release the Kraken 2 sit at 96.5% and 5,000x, Clover Gold at 96.54% and 5,000x, and Gold Party reaches 5,163x. All were released in 2022 as well.

Pros

  • Sticky multiplier wilds stay for the whole free games round
  • Max win of 5,000x, or $5,000 at a $1 bet
  • RTP of 96.38% and a 3.62% house edge
  • Free official demo available

Cons

  • No retrigger in the free games
  • No bonus buy, so the bonus has to be reached by waiting
  • No volatility label in our catalogue

Verdict

Queen of Gods keeps the base game plain and puts its weight on one round, where sticky wilds carry their multipliers to the end. The 96.38% RTP means a 3.62% house edge, the cap is 5,000x and volatility is not published. It suits players who like a simple payline layout. Try the free demo first, and treat any real stake as an entertainment cost.
