Digging For Wilds review
Red Tiger's 2026 mining slot has a feature that is easy to picture: a mine train runs above the middle four reels, and each of its four carts delivers an item to the reel below. The item decides what a Dynamite Wild does if one lands there. The mines are silver, gold and diamond, and the deeper the level, the bigger the blast. With 4,096 ways, a 66.95% hit frequency and Medium volatility, it pairs frequent wins with a 20,196x ceiling.
The mine train and its carts
Four carts travel above the middle four reels. Each stops over a reel and may be empty or may carry one of four items: a Dynamite Wild Multiplier, a Coin, a Detonator or Special Prizes. The item only matters if a Dynamite Wild lands on that reel and the cart stops above it.
Timing is set out in the rules. Detonators and Dynamite Wild Multipliers are executed from left to right before the way wins are paid. Coins and Special Prizes are executed from left to right after the way wins are paid. Because the cart contents decide the extra effect, the same wild can do very different things from one spin to the next.
Dynamite Wild and the Detonator
The Dynamite Wild lands on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 and substitutes for all paying symbols. A non-empty cart over it adds an extra feature that depends on the mine level.
Silver level
With a Detonator above it, the wild explodes vertically into three Gem Wilds. In a middle position it turns the neighbours above and below into Gem Wilds. At the top or bottom of the reel it converts the two positions below it or above it instead.
Gold level
The explosion runs horizontally into three Gem Wilds, turning the positions to the left and right of the Dynamite Wild into Gem Wilds, unless those positions hold a Dynamite Wild or a Free Spins symbol.
Diamond level
The blast spreads to five Gem Wilds in an X shape. The full conditions for the surrounding symbols are cut off in the text we hold, so we describe only the pattern itself.
Free spins and Feature Buy
Free Spins symbols exist in this game, since Gem Wilds cannot replace them, but the rules text we have does not say how the round is triggered or how many spins it awards. The studio also lists a feature buy-in without stating a price. We leave both unspecified rather than guess.
RTP, hit rate and max win
One RTP is on record, 96.04%, a house edge of 3.96%. That is about $39.60 lost per $1,000 wagered over a long run. For short sessions, 100 spins at $0.20 cost $0.79 on average, 100 spins at $1 cost $3.96, and 100 spins at $5, or $500 wagered, cost $19.80.
Volatility is Medium, hit frequency is 66.95% and the max win is 20,196x the bet, equal to $4,039.20 at a $0.20 bet, $20,196 at $1 and $100,980 at $5. A high hit rate means small wins are common, so the average cost is spread across many short returns.
Medium-volatility comparisons
Clover Craze lists 96.25% and 21,000x, Year-Round Riches Clusterbuster 95.75% and 20,482x, and Mystery Reels Deluxe 95.66% and 23,084x.
