Dragon's Luck review
Stone dragons sit beside the reels in Dragon's Luck and occasionally come to life. When they breathe fire, coin symbols on the reels spin again into something more valuable. Red Tiger's 2016 game is set against mountains and forest with a Chinese theme, uses five reels, three rows and 10 lines, and is built around one moment: a board full of lucky 138 symbols for the 1,380x Mega Fortune.
Dragon Coins
Dragon Coins are the anticipation feature and, according to the studio, appear frequently. When the reels stop, every coin on screen spins at the same time and all of them settle on the same symbol. The question on each spin is which tile that will be.
Because all coins reveal one shared symbol, several coins on the grid act together. Three or four coins landing in useful positions can produce a line win as a group, or nothing at all, depending on the reveal.
Fire-breathing Dragons
The dragons watch the game and animate at random. When they breathe fire, the Dragon Coins spin again and again, moving into higher-value symbols. It is a second chance at the reveal that can only improve the outcome, and it is what keeps the coins interesting after they first stop.
Mega coin
When the mega coin, or any part of it, lands on the reels, the dragons breathe fire and turn it into multiple Dragon Coins. Those then reveal a symbol together, which is how the larger results in the game are put together.
Mega Fortune
If the whole board ends up covered in lucky 138 symbols, the result is the Dragon's Luck Mega Fortune, a payout of 1,380x the stake. That figure is also the game's listed max payout, so it marks the top of what a single spin can return.
Low volatility, low hit rate
Red Tiger rates Dragon's Luck Low for volatility, yet the hit frequency is 11.94%, roughly one paying spin in eight or nine. That pairing can look odd at first: wins are not frequent, but the spread between ordinary results and the top is narrower than in a high-volatility game.
The RTP is 96.24%, a house edge of 3.76%. On average $37.60 of every $1,000 wagered is retained in the long run. Over 100 spins, that is $0.75 at $0.20, $3.76 at $1 and $18.80 at $5.
The 1,380x cap equals $276 at $0.20, $1,380 at $1 and $6,900 at $5.
Deluxe, Power Reels and peers
Two follow-ups take the theme in different directions. Dragon's Luck Deluxe lists 95.77%, Very high volatility and a 3,999x cap, while Dragon's Luck Power Reels lists 96.1%, Medium volatility and 3,888x. Among Low-volatility Red Tiger games, Grand Wheel lists 96.2% with 1,000x and Treasure Mine 96.16% with 1,044x.
Who it suits
Dragon's Luck suits players who want a calm game with a 96.24% RTP and a single, easy-to-follow feature. It will not suit anyone looking for free spins or very large multiples. There is no free demo in our data, so a small stake is the safest way to judge whether the coin reveals hold your interest.
Pros
- Low volatility with a clear 1,380x top prize
- Dragon Coins and fire re-spins are easy to follow
- 96.24% RTP and a published 11.94% hit frequency
Cons
- 11.94% hit frequency means many spins pay nothing
- No free spins round described
- No free demo listed in our data
Verdict
Dragon's Luck is a focused, low-volatility game built on shared coin reveals, dragons that re-spin those coins into better symbols, and a 1,380x Mega Fortune for a full board. The RTP is 96.24% with a 3.76% house edge, while the 11.94% hit rate means quieter stretches than the volatility label might suggest. Play it on a fixed budget.
