Dice Bonanza review

In a dice game, your winnings depend on one cube. In Dice Bonanza, BGaming scatters dozens of them across the screen. The 2023 release borrows only the shape of traditional dice games: it is a slot with refilling reels, symbols that pay anywhere and a 3D look. When the cubes fall into place, it can seem to be raining dice. High volatility, 95.97% RTP and free spin multipliers of x2 to x100 define the numbers.

Rain of cubes: how a spin works

BGaming says the only thing the game shares with dice games is the symbol shape. The rest follows slot rules. Symbols pay anywhere on the screen, and the win is set by the number of matching cubes on the reels at the end of each spin.

The raining effect comes from Refilling. After every spin, all matching combinations are paid and the winning symbols are removed. Cubes then drop from above into the empty cells, and the process goes on without limit until no further winning combination appears. Winnings reach the balance only after all refills from a base spin have been played.

Free spins and the multiplier

Four, five or six Scatters, landing anywhere, trigger 10, 20 or 30 free spins. Three or more Scatters during the round add 5 more.

The free spins are the only place where Multiplier symbols appear. They range from x2 to x100, stay on screen until the refilling sequence finishes and are then added together, and the sum multiplies the total win. For a beginner: the more of them you collect in one sequence, the bigger the factor.

Multiplier symbol

Seen only in the Free Spins round, with values from x2 to x100. They stay until the end of the refilling sequence, and their sum multiplies the sequence's total win.

Optional extras

Chance x2 can be bought in the main game. It slightly increases the bet and gives more chances to reach the free spins. Buy Bonus starts the free spins directly at the price on the button, and that price follows the bet. The two cannot be used together: activating one disables the other.

Return and risk

The single RTP of 95.97% gives a house edge of 4.03%, an average loss of $40.30 per $1,000 wagered. In 100 spins that is $0.81 at a $0.20 bet, $4.03 at $1 and $20.15 at $5, a total stake of $500. Volatility is High. No max win is published in our catalogue.

Verdict

Dice Bonanza turns the dice theme into falling cubes, pay-anywhere wins and refills that repeat until a spin runs dry. Free spins from four to six Scatters carry the multipliers of x2 to x100. The RTP is 95.97% with a 4.03% house edge, and the volatility is High. The free demo shows the pace before any money is committed.
