Deadly 5 review
Deadly 5 sends you back to the American frontier to hunt the most fearsome cowboys in the Wild West, each with a bounty on his head. Push Gaming builds the game around two symbols, a Sheriff's Badge wild and a Safe scatter, and a bonus where outlaws are matched to Wanted Posters. Our catalogue holds no volatility label, max win or release year for it, so this review stays with the rules and the RTP figures.
Badge and Safe
Both key symbols can land on any reel, in the base game and in the free spins. The Sheriff's Badge is the wild. It stands in for every symbol except the Safe, which keeps the scatter from being replaced.
The Safe is the scatter and the way into the bonus. Three to five of them start the Sheriff's Bonus free game feature and also pay an instant win in the same moment, so a scatter hit is worth something even before the first free spin.
What the Safe scatters award
The reward grows with the number of Safes that land. The jump between the tiers is steep, and the instant win is paid on top of the spins, not instead of them.
Three Safes
Three scatters give 10 free spins and a 3x instant win. This is the entry level of the bonus, and the studio does not say how often it comes up.
Four Safes
Four scatters give 15 free spins and a 10x instant win. The extra five spins and the bigger instant payout make this a clear step up from three.
Five Safes
Five scatters give 20 free spins and a 50x instant win. The instant win alone is far larger than the three-scatter payout, which shows where the studio puts the top of the scatter reward.
Inside the Sheriff's Bonus
When the feature starts, a Sheriff Wild appears on reel 5 and stays there for the whole bonus. The other four reels carry the real task: match each outlaw to his own Wanted Poster. If the image at the top of a reel lines up with the Wanted Character symbol on the reel below it, the Expanding Symbols feature is triggered. The studio says this brings the potential for huge wins, though it gives no figures for them.
RTP and the cost of a session
Two versions of the game are on record. The higher one returns 96.39%, a house edge of 3.61%, which costs about $36.10 per $1,000 wagered over a long run. The lower one returns 94.35% with a house edge of 5.65%, or $56.50 per $1,000. The studio itself notes that the RTP may vary per casino, so the figure in use is worth checking.
For 100 spins at $0.20, the average cost is $0.72 on the higher version and $1.13 on the lower. At $1 a spin it is $3.61 and $5.65, and at $5 a spin $18.05 and $28.25.
Games with matching RTP
Mad Cars shares the 96.39% figure exactly. Bison Battle, Blaze of Ra, Dinopolis, Goat Getter and Fish 'n' Nudge all list 96.4%, so Push Gaming's lineup clusters tightly around this return.
Pros
- Scatter tiers pay both free spins and an instant win, from 10 to 20 spins and 3x to 50x
- The Sheriff Wild stays on reel 5 for the whole bonus
- A Wanted Poster match triggers the Expanding Symbols feature
- Free official demo available
Cons
- No volatility label or max win in our catalogue, so risk is hard to judge
- The lower RTP version has a 5.65% house edge
- The bonus needs three or more Safe scatters, and no hit rate is published
Verdict
Deadly 5 is a tidy Western slot with a simple core: a Badge wild, a Safe scatter and a bonus where posters and outlaws have to line up. The 96.39% headline RTP matches several other Push Gaming titles, and the second version at 94.35% costs noticeably more. Because volatility and max win are not published, treat it as paid entertainment with a 3.61% house edge at best, and look at the free demo to see how the bonus plays.
