Chests of Cai Shen review
Three chests sit above the reels in Chests of Cai Shen, a Pragmatic Play game from 2024, and they decide what kind of bonus you get. Coins collected into them can set off a respin round in which only money symbols count, and each chest brings its own modifier: bigger coin values, a second screen, or an extra respin. Lines first, coins second

Money symbols appear only during this feature, and each one takes a value from a fixed list: 0.6x, 0.8x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 14x, 16x, 20x or 30x the total bet. Some carry a named prize instead: MINI at 10x, MINOR at 20x or MAJOR at 150x.
When the feature triggers, one, two or three modifiers are activated at random, and the round is played with every modifier it was triggered with. Those combinations are the source of the seven variations the studio mentions.
Green Prosperity chest
The green chest's modifier upgrades the value of up to 3 coins on the screen by a random amount, applied at the end of random respins. It raises what is already on the grid rather than adding new symbols, so it works best in rounds where several coins have landed.
Red chest
If the red chest triggers the bonus, an extra screen is added and two separate Hold & Spin games are played at the same time. Two grids filling in parallel give the round more room for money symbols than a single screen.
Purple chest
With the purple chest, the respin count begins at four instead of three, and the studio says it rests at four rather than three during the round. One more spin on the counter gives new money symbols a little more time to land before the round closes, which matters most when the grid is nearly full.
