Wolf Stacks Megaways review

Stacked Wilds are the whole point of this Red Tiger release from 2025. They land on reels 2 to 5, and when one helps to form a win, it stays on the board for the next spin while only the lowest Wild in the stack disappears. Add the Megaways engine, cascading wins and a free spins round with doubled wins, and you get a High volatility slot with a 30,538x ceiling.

Stacks that stay behind

Wilds appear in stacks on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 and substitute for all paying symbols. The unusual rule is what happens after a win. If a stacked Wild contributes, only the lowest visible Wild in that stack is removed. The rest remain locked in place beside the symbols that did not win.

On the next chain reaction, the locked Wilds drop down into the empty positions, and the new lowest Wild in the stack becomes the one that can unlock for the following cascade. A tall stack therefore keeps feeding the board for several cascades in a row.

The Megaways grid

The studio lists the layout as 7-7-7-7-7-7 and the maximum ways as 117,649. Winning symbols disappear after a payout and new ones fall into the empty places, so one spin can pay several times. Bets run from €0.20 to €50.00.

Free spins with doubled wins

Three or four free spins scatters award 5 or 10 free spins, and every win in the round is doubled. In each spin a full stack of Wilds covers all positions on a random reel, picked from reels 2, 3, 4 or 5. As that stack begins to vanish during cascades, the symbols falling from above can be of any type on the reel strip. Extra Wild stacks can still land naturally, as in the base game.

Retriggers

Landing three or four scatters during the round awards five or ten extra free spins. The studio states there is no limit to how many times the feature can retrigger, which makes round length hard to predict.

Feature Buy

The studio offers a Feature Buy option for the free spins. The price in the text we hold is 70x the stake, which puts the minimum cost of one purchase at 70 times your bet.

RTP, volatility and top prize

Wolf Stacks Megaways has one recorded RTP of 95.72%, so the house edge is 4.28% and the long-run cost is about $42.80 per $1,000 wagered. The hit frequency is 31.15%. Volatility is High.

On a 100-spin session the average cost is $0.86 at $0.20, $4.28 at $1 and $21.40 at $5 ($500 wagered). The max win is 30,538x the bet: $6,107.60 at a $0.20 stake, $30,538 at $1 and $152,690 at $5. Those top figures are a ceiling, and the RTP is lower than on many other titles, so a long session will on average cost more.

Alternatives

Primate King Megaways lists 95.7% and 30,000x, also High. Gods of Troy Megaways has 95.71% and 43,200x, Dynamite Riches Megaways 95.75% with 8,185x. Egypt Megaways sits at 95.71% but is rated Very high with 34,104x.

Pros

  • Stacked Wilds stay on the board after a win
  • Free spins double every win
  • Retriggers have no stated limit
  • Max win of 30,538x the bet

Cons

  • House edge of 4.28% is on the high side
  • Free spins need three scatters to start
  • Feature Buy costs 70x the stake

Verdict

Wolf Stacks Megaways rewards players who like watching a mechanic build: locked Wilds carry over, then free spins double the wins and can retrigger without a stated limit. It has a 95.72% RTP, High volatility and a 30,538x max win. The 4.28% house edge is real, so use the demo to see how the stacks behave and keep stakes small.
