Waves of Poseidon review
Waves of Poseidon dives underwater with a design built around one reel. On the left side of the grid sits a locked column of multipliers, and it only opens when a BONUS symbol lands. Pragmatic Play released the game in 2025. Tumbles push that column upward, so the longer a sequence runs, the more it is worth when it unlocks. It is a short rule set with a clear logic: build the chain first, cash it in with a BONUS symbol.
The locked reel on the left
The multiplier reel holds values up to 20x. In the base game it stays locked. Each consecutive tumble raises the win multiplier, but the value only counts if a BONUS symbol hits. Without one, the build-up goes unpaid.
BONUS symbols are also able to carry their own multipliers of up to 50x in the base game, boosting wins further. The studio says they have a chance to do so, which means some will be plain.
Free spins and Super Free Spins
Four or more scatters trigger the bonus with ten to twenty free spins; four to six scatters cover that range. The round changes the base-game conditions in two ways.
Open multiplier reel
From the first free spin the multiplier reel is unlocked, so no BONUS symbol is needed to release it. BONUS symbols in the round always come with a multiplier, unlike in the base game where it is a chance.
Super Free Spins
Triggering the feature with six or more scatters activates this version. The multiplier reel does not reset between spins, which means a high value reached early can remain available for later spins.
Reading the design
Everything points to the free spins as the place where the ceiling is highest. The base game needs a tumble chain and a BONUS symbol to line up. The free spins remove the second requirement, and Super Free Spins remove the reset as well. That is a conclusion from the rules, not a promise about frequency, since the studio publishes no hit rate.
Our catalogue carries no volatility label or max win for this release, and the studio text gives no top prize either. The 50x and 20x figures are the only ceilings that can be named.
RTP, cost and comparison
A single RTP of 96.55% is listed, which is a house edge of 3.45%. Over a long run about $34.50 is lost per $1,000 wagered. In 100-spin sessions the average loss is $0.69 at $0.20, $3.45 at $1 and $17.25 at $5, or $500 wagered in all.
Several 2025 titles share the same figure, among them Ancient Island Megaways, Captain Kraken Megaways and Fortune of Olympus. Bandit Megaways, also at 96.55%, is the one in that group with a catalogue max win, 5,000x.
Pros
- Multiplier reel with values up to 20x that grows through consecutive tumbles
- BONUS symbols with multipliers up to 50x
- Multiplier reel is open from the first free spin, and Super Free Spins do not reset it
- Free official demo available
Cons
- In the base game the tumble build-up is wasted unless a BONUS symbol lands
- No volatility label or max win in our catalogue
Verdict
Waves of Poseidon makes multipliers the centre of everything: a locked reel up to 20x, BONUS symbols up to 50x, and free spins that remove the lock. The 96.55% RTP means a 3.45% house edge. Volatility and a top win are unpublished, so the demo is the practical way to see how often a chain meets a BONUS symbol. As with any slot, treat the expected cost per session as the price of play.
