The Good, The Bad, and The Rich review

This Wild West slot from Red Tiger, released in November 2024, is less about a single bonus and more about a meter. Progress Scatters fill three stages above the reels, and each completed stage unlocks a feature that fires automatically on the next spin and then keeps returning at random. A compact 3x5 style layout hides 243 ways to win, a Very high volatility rating and a top prize of 8,136x the bet.

Wild West basics

The studio lists the grid as 3-3-3-3-3, which means three rows on each of five reels, and 243 ways to win. Bets run from €0.10 to €50.00 in the studio specification, which also shows a feature buy option.

Wilds replace all paying symbols and count as whichever symbol forms the best combination. If a way is made up only of wilds, it pays the advertised amount for five wilds. Random Wilds can appear on reels 2, 3 and 4, and if they do not produce a win, fresh wilds are placed on the next spin, repeating until a win occurs.

The progress system

Three progress stages are shown above the reels. Each Progress Scatter that lands moves the current stage forward, and it takes 10 of them to complete a stage. These scatters appear only on reels 2, 3 and 4.

Finishing a stage unlocks a feature. It triggers automatically on the next spin and can then trigger at random on later spins. Several unlocked features can fire in the same spin. If a triggered feature produces no win, it stays active for future spins until a win arrives, and while it is active it cannot be triggered a second time.

Remove Royals

When this feature fires, all royal symbols are taken off the reels for the resulting spin. If that spin does not win, the royals stay removed on later spins until a win occurs. The studio does not say how this changes the size of wins.

Random Wilds

One of the features named by the studio as unlockable. It places wilds on reels 2, 3 and 4, and if the spin pays nothing the wilds are placed again on the next spin until a win results.

Stacked symbols

The studio's rules also describe a feature in which paying symbols land in stacks. The text we have is cut off at that point, so we leave the details out.

Free spins and feature buy

Three, four or five scatters trigger up to 15 free spins. During the round the progress features hit more often, and every trigger adds an extra spin. The studio also names Stacked Wilds as part of the package.

The specification lists a feature buy option, but the text does not give its price, so we do not quote one.

RTP, cost and top prize

There is one RTP on record, 95.7%, a house edge of 4.3%. That is about $43 lost per $1,000 wagered in the long run. A 100-spin session costs about $0.86 at a $0.20 bet, $4.30 at $1 and $21.50 at $5.

The hit frequency is listed at 34.71%. The maximum win is 8,136x the bet, which comes to $1,627.20 at $0.20, $8,136 at $1 and $40,680 at $5. With a Very high rating, those top figures are ceilings, not typical outcomes.

Games with similar numbers

The catalogue lists several close neighbours. Riddle of the Sphinx lists 95.66% and 8,002x, Dragons Clusterbuster 95.78% and 7,931x, Lion's Hoard 95.72% and 9,000x, and Flodder 95.75% and 7,564x. Get the Gold Infinireels lists 95.72% with 10,000x, and Narcos Mexico shares the 95.7% RTP with a 10,486x maximum. All are rated Very high.

Pros

  • Three progress stages turn Progress Scatters into features that persist until they win
  • Up to 15 free spins, with an extra spin on every feature trigger
  • Hit frequency of 34.71% and max win of 8,136x
  • Free official demo available

Cons

  • Very high volatility with a 4.3% house edge
  • Studio rules are complex, and some feature details are not available to us
  • The feature buy price is not given in the studio text

Verdict

The Good, The Bad, and The Rich builds its game around progress: collect Progress Scatters, unlock features, and watch them persist until they pay. The 95.7% RTP and Very high volatility mean a 4.3% house edge and uneven results, with 8,136x as the ceiling. It is more layered than a standard ways slot, so the free demo is a sensible place to understand the stages before putting any money behind them.
