Peak Power review

This is a compact 2023 slot from Pragmatic Play: five reels, three rows, ten paylines and a theme of water, fire, electricity and classic bar symbols. There are no cascades or respins. All the interest comes from one idea, which is to attach a multiplier to each payline and let those multipliers grow once the free spins start. The result is a plain base game with a bonus built to carry the heavy outcomes.

A short base game

Matching symbols must land on adjacent reels from left to right along one of the ten paylines. The studio says every line can carry a multiplier that raises the wins on it. Outside the bonus, there are no wild or tumble mechanics listed in the rules we hold.

Scatter symbols can appear on all reels. Landing three or more pays 3x the total bet, and three also start the free spins. That makes the scatter useful on its own even when the bonus is not the aim.

Free spins with line multipliers

Three, four or five scatters award 10, 12 or 14 free spins. Special reels are in play during the round, and every payline starts with a minimum multiplier of 5x. At random, higher multipliers attach to random lines. The possible values are 10x, 100x, 200x, 300x, 400x, 500x and 1000x.

The rules state that the feature cannot be retriggered. So the length of the round is fixed at the moment it is awarded, and the extra scatters at the trigger matter more than they would in a game that allows retriggers. The 5x floor applies to every line, so any winning free spin is multiplied.

Free Spins

Three, four or five scatters give 10, 12 or 14 spins. All paylines carry at least 5x, and random lines can receive 10x up to 1000x. Special reels are used, and the round cannot be retriggered.

Buy Free Spins, standard

Costs 100x the total bet and starts the standard round with a minimum 5x multiplier on each payline.

Buy Free Spins, super

Costs 300x the total bet and starts the Super Free Spins with a minimum 100x multiplier on each payline. The price is three times higher, so the stake you commit at once is large.

Cost and ceiling

The RTP is 96.02%, so the house edge is 3.98%. Over a long run that is about $39.80 lost per $1,000 wagered. Average cost for 100 spins is $0.80 at a $0.20 bet, $3.98 at $1 and $19.90 at $5. The catalogue has no volatility label, which is worth knowing because the multiplier table suggests a wide spread between small and large results.

The cap is 10,000x the bet, which is $2,000 at $0.20, $10,000 at $1 and $50,000 at $5. The only way the larger multipliers reach that region is inside the free spins, so a session spent entirely in the base game is not playing for the headline figure.

Nearby games by the numbers

Cash Chips from 2023 lists 96.03% and the same 10,000x cap. Big Bass Amazon Xtreme and Country Farming, both 2023, show 96.07% and 10,000x. 8 Golden Dragon Challenge sits at 96.02% with 8,800x, and Zeus vs Hades - Gods of War goes up to 15,000x at 96.07%.

Pros

  • Every payline carries at least 5x during the free spins
  • Line multipliers range up to 1000x
  • Two buy options, 100x and 300x
  • Free official demo available

Cons

  • Free spins cannot be retriggered
  • Nearly all of the high value sits in one bonus round
  • No volatility label in our catalogue

Verdict

Peak Power is a straightforward ten-payline slot whose real content is the free spins, where lines carry 5x to 1000x multipliers and the cap is 10,000x. The 96.02% RTP means a 3.98% house edge, and volatility is not published, so judge the pace in the free demo. It fits players who accept that most of the potential waits in one feature, and who set a firm spending limit first.
