Myth review
Myth comes from 2012, and its rules are those of a classic video slot: wilds that double a line, scatters that pay anywhere and a free spins round with a fixed prize multiplier. Play'n GO themes it on Greek mythology, with its creatures, villains and heroes. The detail that matters most today is not on the reels but in the RTP list, which runs across five versions, from 96.88% at the top down to 84.85%.
Five versions, one game
The same title can be configured at 96.88%, 94.83%, 91.84%, 87.85% or 84.85%. The house edge rises in step: 3.12%, 5.17%, 8.16%, 12.15% and 15.15%. Put in money, the long-run cost per $1,000 wagered goes from $31.20 at the top setting to $51.70, $81.60, $121.50 and finally $151.50 at the bottom.
For a session of 100 spins at $1, that is $3.12 on average at 96.88% against $15.15 at 84.85%. At $5 a spin the gap widens to $15.60 versus $75.75. The rules and the reels are identical in every version; only the price changes, so checking which one is loaded matters more here than any feature.
Wilds and scatters in the main game
Play'n GO's page sets out two base-game rules. Any winning combination that includes a wild pays double the normal prize. Scatters count anywhere on the reels, and two or more of them already form a win.
The full paytable, the number of lines and the reel layout are not in our data, as the official rules document is missing from our pack. What can be said is that the wild does two jobs at once: it completes combinations and it doubles them.
The two bonus rounds
The studio lists two bonus rounds: free spins and an optional gamble.
Free spins
Three or more scatters anywhere start the round. During the free spins, every winning combination is tripled, and a win that includes a wild pays 6 times the normal prize, since the wild doubling and the tripling apply together. The round can be retriggered, up to a total of 60 free spins.
Gamble
After a win, the Gamble button offers a guess on a face-down card. Naming the right colour doubles the prize; naming the right suit quadruples it. A wrong guess loses the win being gambled. The round can be repeated up to five times in a row, with a limit of 2,500 coins.
Medium volatility and the Myth line
The catalogue rates the game Medium volatility, and the design fits that: base wins doubled by wilds, a free spins round where every prize is tripled, and no multipliers that climb. No max win is published.
Myth of Dead, a 2025 title in the same line, lists a 96.2% RTP and High volatility. Several games with similar numbers come from the same era: Pearl Lagoon from 2012 shares 96.88% and the Medium label, Aztec Idols from that year shows 96.65%, and Gold Trophy 2 from 2014 also lists 96.88%.
Pros
- Free spin wins are tripled, and wins with a wild pay 6 times
- Free spins retrigger up to 60 in total
- Free official demo available
Cons
- Five RTP versions down to 84.85%, where the edge is 15.15%
- No max win is published
- The gamble feature can wipe out a win on one wrong guess
Verdict
Myth is a straightforward 2012 slot: wilds double, scatters pay anywhere, and free spins triple every prize, with retriggers up to 60 spins. Medium volatility suits players who prefer a steadier pace. The catch is the version list: 96.88% is a fair price, while 84.85% costs almost five times as much per $1,000. Check the loaded RTP, skip the gamble if you want to keep wins, and use the free demo first.
