Money Stacks Megaways review

Money Stacks Megaways revolves around the money symbols that sit on its grid. A collect symbol cashes them in, a super collect adds more, and two collectors together bring a multiplier. Pragmatic Play released it in 2024 on a tumbling Megaways engine with 117,649 ways, and gives the scatters a choice of two very different bonus games. The studio quotes a 10,000x top win, but the catalogue holds no max win or volatility.

Collecting money in the main game

Wins tumble, and money symbols sit on the grid until something collects them. A Collect symbol on reel one or reel six awards every money symbol in view. A Super Collect works on top of that by adding extra money symbols to any reel that already holds one.

If two Collect or Super Collect symbols land on the same spin, a random multiplier from 2x to 10x is applied to the win. Money symbols can also award a random number of free spins in the base game when they land without a collector and without enough scatters for the bonus.

Pick a bonus: Random Wild Multipliers or Money Spins

Three to six scatters let the player choose between two bonus games. Both finish with boosts that can be unlocked for a chance at the 10,000x maximum.

Random Wild Multipliers

The round awards 7 to 15 free spins, followed by a random boost such as win multipliers or extra spins. Every tumbling win adds 1x to the total win multiplier, wilds carry multipliers from 2x to 5x, and two to six scatters bring two to six more spins.

Money Spins

A shorter round of 2 to 7 free spins, with at least one Collect or Super Collect on every spin. Boosts are picked one or several at a time until the feature fires at random. They include +1 free spins, +1x multiplier and two Collect or Super Collect symbols that are always included.

Numbers and what they cost

The catalogue lists a 96.52% RTP, a 3.48% house edge and $34.80 lost per $1,000 wagered on average. A session of 100 spins costs about $0.70 at a $0.20 bet, $3.48 at $1 and $17.40 at $5.

Volatility and max win are blank in the catalogue. The studio's page names 10,000x as the maximum, so treat that as its claim and as a ceiling.

The original and siblings

The non-Megaways Money Stacks also came out in 2024. It lists 96.55% and a 5,000x max win, half of what this version's studio text promises. Similar Megaways games include Revenge of Loki Megaways at 96.51% with 10,000x, Sumo Supreme Megaways at 96.55%, Barnyard Megahays Megaways and Might of Freya Megaways at 96.5%, Mustang Gold Megaways at 96.46% and Release the Kraken Megaways at 96.4% with 10,000x.

Pros

  • Two different bonus games to choose from after three to six scatters
  • Collect symbols cash in all money symbols on screen, with 2x-10x multipliers for two together
  • Money symbols can award free spins even without enough scatters
  • Free official demo available

Cons

  • No volatility label or max win in the catalogue; 10,000x is only the studio's claim
  • Several bonus boosts are random picks, so outcomes are hard to predict

Verdict

Money Stacks Megaways is built around collectors and boosts: tumbling wins, money symbols that wait to be collected and a choice of two bonus games. The 96.52% RTP and 3.48% house edge are close to its 2024 siblings, and the 10,000x ceiling comes from the studio's text rather than the catalogue. Volatility is unpublished, so test both bonuses in the free demo before deciding on a stake.
