Lucky Lightning review
Lucky Lightning is a slot about shape. When wilds land on the first two reels, the screen can stretch into a larger layout, and the extra sixth reel then holds only money symbols. Pragmatic Play released it in 2021 with 243 ways to win and an ancient gods setting. The respin round is where the changing grid pays off.
A grid that grows
Wins pay from left to right on adjacent reels across 243 ways. Wilds appear only on reels one and two, and they replace every symbol except Bonus and Money.
When a Wild hits reel one together with a Wild on reel two, the game has a random chance to enlarge the screen for that spin. The rules name three layouts: 3x6, 3x3x4x4x4 and 3x3x4x4x4x4. When a sixth reel is available, it contains only Money symbols.
Money symbols and the respin
Money symbols appear on reels three to six. On each spin they take a random cash value from a fixed set, or a Silver, Gold or Platinum fixed jackpot prize. Those jackpots are fixed amounts, not a growing pot.
The Wild Respin and Collection feature starts from the same two Wilds on the first two reels. According to the studio, filling the sixth reel with Money symbols wins a respin of reels three, four and five. The rules text we hold is cut off before the collection step, so the exact payout order is not described here.
Free spins
Three or more Bonus symbols trigger the free spins. Three award 10 spins, four award 15 and five award 50. The Bonus symbol appears on reels one to five. The round always starts on a 3x6 grid, and the Wild Respin and Collection feature is available inside it, with a chance of the screen growing to 3x3x4x4x4x4 on any spin. Three or more Bonus symbols during the round retrigger it.
Buying the round
The free spins can be bought for 100 times the current bet. A bought round is always played on the 3x3x4x4x4x4 grid for its whole length, the largest of the layouts, instead of starting small and growing by chance. A free demo is available from the studio.
