Buffalo Collector review

Most slots treat every spin the same. Buffalo Collector counts to ten. The first nine spins of each cycle quietly gather buffaloes, and the tenth releases the whole herd onto the reels as multipliers. Red Tiger released it in 2024 on a 5x4 layout with 1,024 ways, and the rest of the design, from wilds to free spins, is arranged around that counter.

The ten-spin counter

A counter above the reels numbers each spin from 1 to 10. During spins one to nine, every buffalo that lands is added to a separate tally. Buffaloes that appear on the tenth spin are not counted.

On the tenth spin the stored buffaloes are placed on the reels at random positions. More than one can land on the same position, and each extra buffalo on a spot raises that spot's multiplier by 1. A symbol carrying a multiplier counts as several symbols when winning combinations are calculated, so the herd is converted straight into extra winning weight.

The logical consequence is uneven pacing. Nine spins of build-up are followed by one spin in which the tally is cashed in, and a bigger tally gives the tenth spin more to work with.

Wilds and free spins

Wild symbols substitute for all other paying symbols and appear only on reels 2, 3 and 4, which limits where they can help.

Free spins trigger

Three, four or five Free Spins scatters award 8, 10 or 12 free spins. Landing two scatters on reels 2 and 4 during the round adds 2 extra spins.

Buffaloes in the bonus

The base-game tally does not carry in. The round begins with 4 buffaloes, and the collection feature runs on every free spin. Each buffalo that lands is also collected, which raises the number placed on the remaining spins. When the round ends, you return to the base game with the same tally you had when you left.

Numbers and cost

The single RTP on record is 95.75%, giving a house edge of 4.25%. That equals about $42.50 lost per $1,000 wagered over a long run. Hit frequency is 32.17%, so nearly one spin in three returns something, and volatility is rated High.

The max win is 19,323x the bet: $3,864.60 at $0.20, $19,323 at $1 and $96,615 at $5. A 100-spin session costs on average $0.85 at $0.20, $4.25 at $1 and $21.25 at $5.

Other High-volatility games with similar figures

Gold Mine Mistress lists 95.74% and a 19,229x max win. Monsters Unchained has 95.69% with 19,281x, and Knights of Avalon shows 95.7% with 17,729x. Sirens' Riches reaches 22,307x at 95.73%, Bloody Murder has 16,400x at 95.76%, and Reel Keeper Power Reels lists 16,060x at 95.73%. All are rated High, so this game does not stand out on the numbers; the counter does.

Pros

  • The ten-spin cycle turns buffalo collection into a visible, trackable mechanic
  • Hit frequency of 32.17% means wins arrive on nearly a third of spins
  • Free spins start with 4 buffaloes already collected
  • Free official demo available

Cons

  • Buffaloes landing on the tenth spin are not counted
  • Wilds only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4
  • RTP of 95.75% is a fixed, single version with a 4.25% house edge

Verdict

Buffalo Collector is a clear idea executed in a small package: nine spins to gather, one spin to cash in. The 95.75% RTP, High volatility and 19,323x max win are close to many comparable Red Tiger releases, so the appeal is the counter itself. Paid play still carries a 4.25% house edge, about $42.50 per $1,000, so decide a budget first and use the free demo to see how the cycle feels before staking money.
