Bulls Run Wild review
Bulls Run Wild by Red Tiger is built on a single idea. Before every spin, a bar above the reels names one paying symbol, and if that symbol lands it is turned into a Wild Bull. In the bonus round the bulls lock in place and stay there. The 2022 game uses five reels and three rows with up to 20 paylines, carries a Medium rating and lists a hit frequency of 37.74%, so wins are meant to arrive often.
Naming the wild before the spin
At the start of each spin a random paying symbol type appears in the Wild Picker Bar above the reels. That symbol is the one at risk of changing. If any of it lands, all of it is converted into Wild Bulls when the spin ends.
Order matters here. Wins are paid only after the conversion, so the wilds are already in place when the result is counted. The bar also tells you in advance which symbol to watch, which keeps the base game easy to follow even though the choice is random.
Wild Picker Bar
A random paying symbol type is shown in the bar at the start of every spin. All symbols of that type that land are transformed into Wild Bulls at the end of the spin, and any wins are paid afterwards. A pick that never lands changes nothing, so the effect depends on which symbol the bar happens to name.
Free spins where the bulls stay
The bonus is triggered by three Free Spins scatters, one each on reels 1, 3 and 5. The studio text we have does not give the number of spins awarded, so we do not quote one.
What it does say is what changes. Every Wild Bull that appears during the round stays locked until the bonus ends. Free Spins scatters do not appear inside the round, and no extra spins can be won there. That means the length is fixed from the start, and the only thing building up as the spins go by is the number of locked wilds.
Locked Wild Bulls
In the free spins, bulls created by the Picker Bar do not disappear after the spin. They hold their position to the end of the bonus round, so each new bull adds to the board for every spin that follows. Later spins are therefore likely to carry more wilds than earlier ones.
Frequent wins, middling ceiling
Bulls Run Wild has one RTP on record, 95.75%, which means a house edge of 4.25%. Over $1,000 wagered that is an average cost of $42.50. A hit frequency of 37.74% means a little over one spin in three returns a win of some kind.
The max win is 1,947x the bet: $389.40 at a $0.20 stake, $1,947 at $1 and $9,735 at $5. For shorter sessions, 100 spins at $0.20 cost $0.85 on average, 100 spins at $1 cost $4.25 and 100 spins at $5 cost $21.25. The studio lists stakes from €0.10 to €50.00.
Neighbours with near-identical numbers
Several Medium games sit within a hair of this RTP. Shadow Society lists 95.76% and 1,957x, Bombuster 95.74% and 2,020x, and Regal Beasts 95.73% and 2,078x. Here Kitty Kitty also sits at 95.73% with 2,135x. Fa Fa Babies from 2022 offers 95.83% and 1,999x, and Agent Royale 95.77% and 1,760x.
The differences are in the top prize, not in the cost per spin. If the ceiling is what you compare, Here Kitty Kitty is the highest of these and Agent Royale the lowest.
Pros
- The Picker Bar shows the target symbol before each spin, so the main feature is easy to read
- Wild Bulls stay locked for the whole of the free spins
- 37.74% hit frequency means wins land often
- Free official demo available
Cons
- At 95.75% the house edge of 4.25% is a cost of $42.50 per $1,000
- The studio text we have does not give the number of free spins or any multipliers
Verdict
Bulls Run Wild keeps its rules short: one symbol is named, its copies become wilds, and in the bonus those wilds stay. With a 95.75% RTP, Medium volatility and a 1,947x ceiling, it is a steady, readable game rather than a high-swing one. The house edge is 4.25%, so treat it as paid entertainment and use the free demo to see whether the Picker Bar suits you.
