Cash Volt review
Cash Volt keeps the reels classic and bolts one counting feature on top. Red Tiger's 2020 release uses a 5x3 grid with 20 lines, and next to the line wins it watches for Cash Volt symbols. Six or more of them anywhere on the screen pay an instant multiple of the stake, and the prize climbs steeply with each extra symbol, up to 2,500x for a full screen. Oversized versions of the symbol help fill the count.
Lines plus a symbol count
The base layer is a familiar one: five reels, three rows, 20 win lines and a stake range of €0.10 to €50 according to the studio. Line wins work as usual.
The second layer ignores lines entirely. Every Cash Volt symbol on the screen is counted, and once the total reaches six, an instant prize based on the bet is paid. A 5x3 grid has 15 positions, so the largest tier of 15 symbols means every position on the reels is showing Cash Volt.
The instant win ladder
The studio publishes the full table. Six symbols pay 5x the stake, seven pay 15x, eight pay 25x and nine pay 50x. From there the steps widen: 100x for ten, 250x for eleven, 500x for twelve, 750x for 13, 1,000x for 14 and 2,500x for all 15.
The shape of that table explains the Medium volatility rating better than any label. The low tiers are modest returns on a spin, while the upper tiers multiply quickly, so almost all of the potential sits in the rare screens that come close to a full count.
Cash Volt instant win
Six or more Cash Volt symbols anywhere on the screen award a fixed multiple of the stake, from 5x for six symbols to 2,500x for 15. It is paid on top of the normal line game, and position does not matter.
Super Symbols
The Cash Volt symbol also lands in 2x2 and 3x3 sizes. Every square of an oversized symbol that is visible on the screen counts as one symbol towards the instant win, so a single 3x3 block can supply a large share of the count at once.
Money and odds
Cash Volt has one RTP on file, 95.71%, for a house edge of 4.29%. That is about $42.90 per $1,000 wagered over a long stretch. Over 100 spins the average cost is $0.86 at $0.20, $4.29 at $1 and $21.45 at $5.
The studio's hit frequency is 19.15%, so fewer than one spin in five pays anything. The ceiling of 2,500x equals $500 at a $0.20 stake, $2,500 at $1 and $12,500 at $5; it matches the full-screen tier of the instant win table, which shows where that figure comes from. It is a rare result, not a benchmark for a session.
Supercharged and other options
The catalogue lists Cash Volt Supercharged as the related title, at 96.17% with a Very high rating and a 2,512x cap: a higher RTP with a far more volatile profile. Close in numbers to the original are Cake and Ice Cream at 95.72% with a 2,500x maximum, Apache Way at 95.75% and 2,571x, and Rock'n'Lock at 95.69% and 2,340x, all rated Medium.
Who it is for
This is a game for players who like a single, readable target. There is nothing to track between spins and no progress to lose, so every round stands alone. Those who want frequent small hits may find the 19.15% hit rate thin. As with any slot, a firm budget matters more than the size of the top tier.
Pros
- One clear feature: count six or more Cash Volt symbols for an instant prize
- The full paytable for the instant win is published by the studio
- 2x2 and 3x3 Super Symbols count square by square
- Medium volatility with a 2,500x cap
Cons
- A 19.15% hit frequency means long runs of empty spins
- The top tiers need 13 to 15 symbols on a 15-position grid
- The 95.71% RTP leaves a 4.29% house edge
Verdict
Cash Volt is straightforward: 20 lines plus an instant win that pays 5x to 2,500x the stake for six to 15 Cash Volt symbols, helped by 2x2 and 3x3 Super Symbols. The 95.71% RTP gives a 4.29% house edge, the volatility is Medium, and the low hit frequency means patience is needed. It fits players who prefer one simple target to layered bonuses. Set your limit before the first spin.
