Panda Goes Boom review
Panda Goes Boom is a small-board Red Tiger slot set in a bamboo retreat, where a laid-back panda throws water balloons. The layout is listed as 3-3-3 with five win lines, so there is little on screen. The weight sits in the respins: a chosen symbol locks in place, and x5 symbols build a multiplier that grows with every extra respin. Red Tiger released it in June 2026 after a short early-access window.
A tiny board with five lines
Wins run along five win lines, and Wild symbols substitute for every paying symbol. A Wild counts as whichever symbol produces the highest combination on a line. If the screen is full of winning symbols across all five lines, a x10 multiplier is applied to the win.
That last rule is the only multiplier in the plain base spin. Everything else in the design is routed through respins.
The respin features
There are two connected respin mechanics. One is built on a chosen symbol, the other on a multiplier symbol, and they can feed each other.
Locking symbol respins
On a random spin the game picks one paying symbol. Only that symbol, Wilds or blanks can land. If the chosen symbol or a Wild lands, it locks and triggers a respin. Respins carry on until a spin brings no new symbols or the board is full of locked ones. Wins are paid once, after the last respin.
x5 Respin symbols and the Multiplier Respin
Landing one or more x5 Respin symbols anywhere triggers a respin, and their x5 values are added up and applied to the wins in it. More x5 symbols in that respin trigger another one and push the stored multiplier up by 5 each. During the Multiplier Respin the middle reel becomes a Wild reel, and Wilds cannot land on reels 1 and 3. A full board of winning symbols adds the x10 Fortune Win Multiplier to the respin multiplier.
Fortune Respins
The x5 Respin symbol can also be the randomly chosen symbol. In that case only x5 symbols or empty spaces land and no wins can form. The collected x5 symbols then trigger a Multiplier Respin straight afterwards.
Three ways to buy in
Feature buy is available and splits into three choices. Fortune Chase makes the Fortune Respin and the Multiplier Respin five times more likely to trigger. Fortune Respin ensures that the Fortune Respin starts. Multiplier Respin ensures that at least one x5 symbol lands to start a Multiplier Respin. All three are paid shortcuts, so each one costs extra on top of the normal bet.
RTP, volatility and what a session costs
Panda Goes Boom has one RTP on record: 96.13%, a house edge of 3.87%. That is about $38.70 per $1,000 wagered. Volatility is High and the hit frequency is 14.93%, which means a little under one spin in six shows a win. Expect long dry stretches broken by the multiplier respins.
The max win is 7,115x the bet. At a $0.20 bet that is $1,423, at $1 it is $7,115 and at $5 it is $35,575. As an average cost, 100 spins at $0.20 come to $0.77, 100 spins at $1 to $3.87 and 100 spins at $5 to $19.35.
Comparable high-volatility slots
Happy Cappy lists 96.2% and a 6,590x max win, Mega Rise 96.08% and 6,375x, and Totem Lightning Power Reels 96.03% and 7,918x. Shark Boss reaches 10,000x at 96.11%, and Take the Money lists 10,009x at the same RTP. All are rated High, so Panda Goes Boom sits in the middle of that group on max win.
Pros
- Respin multipliers stack by 5 for each extra x5 symbol
- Three feature-buy options let you choose how the bonus is reached
- Max win of 7,115x with a 14.93% hit frequency
- Free official demo available
Cons
- High volatility, so winning spins are spread thin
- Only one multiplier is available in a base spin, and it needs a full board
- A single RTP version of 96.13% leaves no higher-return option
Verdict
Panda Goes Boom trades screen space for respin tension. The locking symbol and the growing x5 multiplier are easy to follow, and the three buy options are clearly described. At 96.13% with High volatility and a 7,115x ceiling, it is a mid-table result among similar games. Remember the 3.87% house edge, keep stakes small, and try the free demo first to see how the respins feel.
