Dance Party review
Dance Party is a club-night slot with a 3×5 layout and 243 ways to win, released by Pragmatic Play in 2020. The base game is built from ordinary left-to-right ways, and almost all the interest sits in one bonus: the Progressive Multiplier Free Spins. There the win multiplier climbs after every spin to a ceiling of 30x. Be aware of one data conflict. The catalogue shows a 96.5% RTP while the studio's rules document states 94.5%.
243 ways, five reels
A win needs matching symbols on adjacent reels starting from the left, and the 243 ways mean that any symbol in a reel position counts, not just those on a fixed line. The wild substitutes for all other symbols except the scatter and can appear only on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5, so it never lands on the first reel.
The scatter appears on every reel, and in this game it does more than trigger the bonus. How many land decides how strong the free spins start.
Progressive Multiplier Free Spins
The rules require at least five scatters to open the round, and the studio presents the bonus as the star of the show.
Starting multiplier
The number of scatters sets where the multiplier begins. Five scatters give 1x, six give 2x and seven give 3x. The round itself starts with 15 free spins.
Growth per spin
After every free spin the win multiplier rises by 1x, 2x or 3x, matching the trigger of five, six or seven scatters. The multiplier stops at 30x. A five-scatter round, adding 1x per spin, cannot reach that cap inside its first 15 spins.
Extra spins
The rules mention additional free spins in blocks of 15, up to a total of 60. The text we have is partial, so the exact retrigger condition is not described here.
Why the bonus matters so much
In most slots a multiplier is a bonus on top of a normal return. Here the multiplier keeps going up spin after spin, so the last spins of a round are worth more than the first ones. That is why the trigger count matters: more scatters raise both the start and the speed of the climb.
Two RTP figures and the cost of play
The catalogue lists 96.5%, a 3.5% house edge and a cost of $35 per $1,000 wagered. The official rules document gives 94.5%, a lower return and so a higher cost. We cannot say which applies, so treat 96.5% as the best case. On the catalogue figure, 100 spins cost $0.70 on average at $0.20, $3.50 at $1 and $17.50 at $5.
No max win or volatility is published for the game, so the 30x multiplier is the only ceiling we can quote.
Same-year alternatives
5 Lions Dance, Curse of the Werewolf Megaways and Christmas Carol Megaways also list 96.5% in 2020, the last with a 20,000x cap. Aztec Bonanza posts 96.53% with 19,440x, The Dog House Megaways 96.55%, and Drago - Jewels of Fortune lists 48,000x.
Pros
- 243 ways to win on a 3×5 layout
- Free spins multiplier climbs after every spin, up to 30x
- A bigger scatter count raises both the starting multiplier and the growth rate
- Free official demo available
Cons
- RTP is 96.5% in the catalogue but 94.5% in the official rules
- At least five scatters are needed to start the bonus
- No max win or volatility rating published
Verdict
Dance Party is a ways slot that hides its character in one feature: a free spins round with a multiplier rising to 30x, started by five or more scatters. The RTP is 96.5% in our catalogue and 94.5% in the studio's rules, which is a real gap to keep in mind. With neither max win nor volatility on record, the free demo is the best way to see how rarely the bonus shows up.
