Beasts of Fire Maximum review
Beasts of Fire Maximum is the 2024 follow-up to Play'n GO's Beasts of Fire. The setting is the Great Plains, where a meteor once gave the buffalo a fiery strength. This instalment is built on reels that grow taller. Every scatter that lands adds a row, and a three-scatter trigger takes the board to its full height for the free spins. Add a random herd feature that drops extra Buffalo symbols onto the reels, and the design focuses on one idea: more room means more ways to win.
Three features in the studio's pitch
The studio lists three headline features. They build on each other, so it helps to take them in order of how often they can appear.
A grid size and a payline or ways count are not given in the text available to us. Treat the exact board shape as something to check in the free demo.
Charging Fire Beasts
On any spin, a herd of buffalo can charge toward the screen and add extra Buffalo symbols to the reels. The studio says it can turn an ordinary spin into a cascade of wins. It needs no scatter, so it belongs to the base game.
Expanding Reels
Each scatter that lands expands the reels by one more row, while the other reels are still spinning. If the free spins are not triggered, the reels shrink back to their usual size. The result is that a near miss does not leave a lasting change on the board.
Maximum Burning Spins
Three scatters activate the Maximum Free Spins. The reels expand to their maximum height, and the studio says this stacks with the Fire Beasts feature. The spin count is not given in the text we hold.
How the pieces fit together
The scatter does double duty. Short of three, each one makes the board taller for that spin, and at three it starts the round that begins at full height. Taller reels hold more positions, so there is simply more board for the Fire Beasts herd to add Buffalo symbols to.
The sequel framing is simple. Beasts of Fire from 2021 is listed at 96.24% with High volatility, and this follow-up keeps the same rating.
RTP versions and costs
Five RTP versions are on record. The top one is 96.25%, a house edge of 3.75%, costing about $37.50 per $1,000 wagered. After that come 94.23% (5.77%, $57.70), 91.23% (8.77%, $87.70), 87.23% (12.77%, $127.70) and 84.23% (15.77%, $157.70).
In a 100-spin session at $1, the top version costs $3.75 on average and the lowest costs $15.77. At $0.20 that is $0.75 against $3.15, and at $5 it is $18.75 against $78.85. Volatility is High, and the max win is not published.
Other High volatility 2024 games
Boat Bonanza Down Under and Kingdom Below both list 96.25%, the same as this game. 3 Clown Monty II and Jolly Roger Wild Kraken sit at 96.26%, Dansband Pa Turne at 96.24% and Boat Bonanza Christmas at 96.21%. All carry a High rating, so RTP alone will not separate them.
Pros
- Reels grow by one row for each scatter that lands
- Maximum Burning Spins start the round at full reel height
- Charging Fire Beasts can add Buffalo symbols on any spin
- Free official demo available
Cons
- Grid, paylines and free spin count are not in the available text
- No max win published
- Lowest RTP version has a 15.77% house edge
Verdict
Beasts of Fire Maximum is a game about reel height. Scatters grow the board, three of them start the full-height free spins, and the Fire Beasts herd adds symbols on top. The 96.25% RTP and High volatility put it in line with its 2024 peers, while the missing max win leaves the ceiling unknown. Use the demo to check the board size and pace, and keep stakes within a budget you treat as the price of entertainment.
