Invading Vegas review

Aliens land on the Las Vegas Strip in this 2023 Play'n GO slot, among landmarks styled on the '80s and '90s. The theme is played for laughs, but the mechanics are unusual. Walking wilds step across the grid, the whole reel set flips end to end during the free spins, and a near-miss with stacked symbols can earn a second chance on reel three. It is rated Medium volatility, a calmer profile than many feature-heavy games.

Free spins and the flipping Strip

Three Flying Saucers, the scatter, unlock the free spins. The round opens with 12 spins and can be retriggered; the studio does not say how many spins a retrigger adds.

During the round the aliens flip the Strip. A Walking Wild moves one step to the left, and the reels rotate 180 degrees so that the last reel becomes the first. Stacked symbols that have built up end up in new positions after the flip, which Play'n GO says improves the chance of wins, particularly large ones.

Walking Wilds

In the free spins a Walking Wild moves left each time. In the Lock On Re-Spin it moves the other way, to the right. Because it travels instead of disappearing, one wild can take part in more than one result.

Reel flip

A free-spins mechanic. The reel set turns 180 degrees, so the last reel takes the place of the first and accumulated stacks shift with it.

A second chance on reel three

The Lock On Re-Spin Feature rewards a specific near-miss. If reel 1 shows a full stack of one symbol, the next reel shows a full stack of the same symbol or of wilds, and reel 3 has no match, the game re-spins reel 3 alone to give the combination another chance.

Inside this mode, stacked wilds can turn into Walking Wilds that cover the whole reel. Those move to the right, and every other reel receives a re-spin. The studio lists expanding wilds among the features, and this full-reel coverage is the clearest example it describes.

Lock On Re-Spin

Triggered by full matching stacks on the first two reels with no match on reel 3. Reel 3 re-spins; during the feature stacked wilds may become reel-covering Walking Wilds that move right, and every other reel re-spins.

The price of an alien invasion

Play'n GO publishes five RTP versions: 96.2%, 94.2%, 91.2%, 87.2% and 84.2%. The headline one keeps 3.8% as house edge, the lowest 15.8%. Expressed per $1,000 staked across a long run, the expected cost is $38 at the top, then $58, $88, $128 and finally $158.

For a session of 100 spins at $1, the average cost ranges from $3.80 to $15.80 depending on the version, and from $19 to $79 at $5 a spin. A cautious $0.20 player would expect $0.76 at best and $3.16 at worst. The game's info panel shows the active version.

The volatility is Medium. No max win or hit frequency is published.

More invasions

Two related games appear in our data. Invading Vegas: Las Christmas from 2023 and Invading Vegas Revenge on Mars from 2025 both list 96.2% with Medium volatility, so the numbers give no reason to prefer one over another. Other Medium releases of 2023 include Legion Gold at 96.23% and Piggy Blitz and Highway Legends at 96.25%.

Who it suits

Medium volatility and a mechanic that rescues near-misses make this game a reasonable choice for players who want regular activity rather than all-or-nothing bonuses. Players who want a large, published ceiling will find no max win figure here. The free official demo is the simplest way to see the reel flip at work.

Pros

  • Lock On Re-Spin gives near-miss stacks a second chance
  • 12 free spins with walking wilds and a flipping reel set
  • Medium volatility for a steadier profile
  • Free official demo available

Cons

  • Five RTP versions, the lowest at 84.2%
  • No max win is published
  • Retrigger size and symbol values are not on the studio page

Verdict

Invading Vegas puts aliens on the Strip and gives them unusual tools: walking wilds, a 180-degree reel flip in the 12 free spins, and a Lock On Re-Spin for near-miss stacks. At its best setting the RTP is 96.2% with Medium volatility, but lower versions down to 84.2% exist. Check the version in the game, try the free demo, and treat the 3.8% minimum house edge as the cost of the show.
