JetPackX review
JetPackX leaves out nearly everything a slot has. Microgaming's page says there are no reels, no paylines, no bonus symbols and no free spins. A pilot with a jetpack climbs through a neon skyline, a multiplier rises, and the one decision left is the moment to press Cash Out. Released on 12 November 2025, it carries a 97.5% RTP, which means a 2.5% house edge.
One climb, one decision
Every round starts at 1.00x. The multiplier then climbs in a non-linear way, and the studio calls the pattern unpredictable. It adds that the algorithm behind it is provably fair, which is the studio's claim; we have not verified it. The round ends when the flight crashes, and the studio ties the outcome to how long the flight lasts before that happens.
The Cash Out button is the control that matters. Press it before the crash and the bet is paid at the multiplier on screen. The studio's description does not spell out what happens to a bet if the crash comes first. It says only that the outcome depends on how long the flight lasts, and that the tension builds from round to round around the timing of the cash out.
What is deliberately missing
Microgaming points out that JetPackX does not clutter the format with extras. The focus stays on the climb, the multiplier and the timing of the cash out. For a newcomer that makes the rules a one-minute read. For someone who wants side features, there are none to find: the page lists Free Spins as No.
Presentation does the rest of the work. A cyberpunk city with neon lights, passing traffic and holographic details sits behind the pilot, in blue, purple and pink tones. The studio says the layout stays clear on desktop and mobile and the soundtrack builds with the round.
Numbers and where they disagree
The RTP is 97.5% and the house edge is 2.5%, about $25 lost per $1,000 wagered over a long run. In shorter sessions, 100 rounds at $0.20 cost $0.50 on average, 100 rounds at $1 cost $2.50 and 100 rounds at $5, or $500 wagered, cost $12.50.
The top multiplier is 5,000x the stake, which equals $1,000 on a $0.20 bet, $5,000 on a $1 bet and $25,000 on a $5 bet. The studio lists bets from 0.10 to 50.00.
On volatility the sources do not match. Our catalogue does not publish a rating. Microgaming's page shows Low - High in its game details and High in the information table, so the label is unsettled. In practice, a top multiplier of 5,000x suggests that results can vary widely, but that is our reading, not a studio statement.
Random every time
Each round is generated independently. How long one flight lasted tells you nothing about the next, and no cash-out habit or target changes the long-run return of 97.5%. The speed of a round matters for the budget: more rounds in an hour means more wagered, and at a 2.5% edge the expected cost grows with every one.
Pros
- 97.5% RTP, a 2.5% house edge, about $25 per $1,000 wagered
- Top multiplier of 5,000x the stake, $25,000 on a $5 bet
- Rules are minimal: no reels, paylines, bonus symbols or free spins
- Free official demo available
Cons
- The volatility label is inconsistent: not in our catalogue, Low - High and High on the studio page
- No extra features, so there is little beyond the cash-out decision
- The studio text we have does not describe auto cash-out or two-bet options
Verdict
JetPackX is the stripped-down end of the crash format: a rising multiplier, a Cash Out button and a neon backdrop, with a 5,000x ceiling. The 97.5% RTP gives a 2.5% house edge, about $25 per $1,000 wagered, and the volatility description varies between the studio's own tables. It suits people who want a very simple game and accept a high-variance label as likely. Use the free demo to judge the pace.
