Fruit Mania review
Fruit Mania dresses a classic fruit slot in an orchard setting and then gives it three of Wazdan's own mechanics: a diamond table that fills up towards bonus spins, a lotto ticket pick game and a mode that lets you hold symbols in place between spins.
Three features, three triggers
Each extra in Fruit Mania is reached in its own way, which gives the base game more to follow than a standard fruit machine.
Diamond Bonus Matrix
Diamond icons fill a table called the Diamond Bonus Matrix. Once the entire table is filled, 9 Bonus Spins are awarded. During those spins, every diamond that lands locks in place and stays on the reels until the Bonus Spins end, so the screen can fill progressively over the round.
Lotto Bonus
A pick-and-click game triggered by three lotto symbols on the three middle reels. You choose one of three lotto tickets, and the chosen ticket awards an instant cash prize. The prize amounts are not given in the studio material we hold.
Block Symbols Mode
Lets you lock symbols on the reels for the following spins. Rather than relying entirely on a fresh spin, you can keep chosen symbols in position. Wazdan does not publish whether this changes the cost of a spin or how many symbols can be held.
What is not documented
The studio page is written for operators and covers features rather than rules. It does not give the reel layout, the number of lines, the paytable or how diamonds are counted into the matrix. With no official rules document in our pack, those details are left to the game's help screen. There is also no free official demo in our data, so reading those rules in-game is the main way to learn them.
Return and risk profile
One RTP is recorded: 96.59%, which leaves a 3.41% house edge, about $34.10 per $1,000 wagered across a long run. In 100-spin terms, that is $0.68 at $0.20, $3.41 at $1 and $17.05 at $5 on average.
Volatility is High, so results are likely to arrive in uneven bursts, with long dry stretches possible. The catalogue lists no max win; Wazdan's page says Block Symbols Mode can lead to a win of up to 1,000x the stake, which is $1,000 on a $1 bet.
Deluxe version and High-rated peers
Fruit Mania Deluxe, from 2018, keeps the same 96.59% RTP and High rating. Other High-volatility Wazdan games with similar returns include Arcade from 2013 at 96.62%, American Gold Poker from the same year at 96.58% and Dracula's Castle from 2017 at 96.56%.
Fruit Mania suits players who like a retro look but want more decisions and features than a three-line fruit machine offers, and who are comfortable with High volatility. Anyone looking for gentle, frequent wins may find the risk level a poor match.
Pros
- Bonus Spins where every landing diamond locks in place
- Block Symbols Mode adds a choice to the base game
- A separate lotto ticket pick bonus
Cons
- High volatility for a classic-style game
- No reel layout, paytable or prize values published in our data
- No free official demo
Verdict
Fruit Mania gives a retro orchard slot more depth than usual: a diamond table that unlocks 9 locking Bonus Spins, a lotto ticket pick game and a mode for holding symbols. Its 96.59% RTP is high for Wazdan, but volatility is High, the studio-stated ceiling is 1,000x and core rules are missing from our data. Read the in-game rules before playing and keep stakes small enough to ride out dry spells.
