Easter Plinko review
Easter Plinko is the classic Plinko board in a seasonal wrapper. A ball is dropped down a vertical board and ends in one of several cells, each holding a value. BGaming released this version in 2023 with a 99% RTP, which leaves a house edge of only 1%. The official text names no top win and no volatility rating, and it adds no bonus features. What it does offer is a small set of settings and a short history of the game.
Where Plinko comes from
The studio traces the game to the TV show The Price is Right, where executive producer Frank Wayne developed Plinko and premiered it in 1983. According to BGaming, the name comes from the sound the ball makes as it bounces down the board and drops into a cell: plink, plink, plink. The result is decided by a falling ball.
How one drop works
You press the play button and balls fall from the top of a pyramid. They hit the cells at the bottom at random. Those cells have different values, and the values grow from the centre towards the edges. The amount in the cell where a ball lands is credited to your balance.
The studio says wins depend on the risk level you chose and on the path of the ball. It does not publish how likely any cell is, so the text gives no way to estimate the chance of a particular value.
The settings
There are three controls and a results board.
Risk levels
High, normal or low. The studio says the level adjusts the cell values, so the same board can be set up to pay differently.
Lines Change
The board can have anywhere from 8 to 16 lines.
Bet mode
Manual mode drops the balls one at a time. In Auto mode, you only watch them fall.
Record table
A board records the results of past drops. The studio suggests it helps players build a winning strategy, but each ball is random, so past results say nothing about the next one.
Cost of a session
Easter Plinko has one RTP on record, 99%, which gives a house edge of 1%. About $10 is lost on average per $1,000 wagered. Across 100 drops, $0.20 bets cost $0.20, $1 bets cost $1 and $5 bets, or $500 wagered, cost $5. Our catalogue publishes neither a volatility label nor a max win.
A low house edge does not make the game a way to earn money. It is still paid entertainment where the average result is a small loss, and automatic drops can pile up wagers quickly.
Pros
- 99% RTP, a 1% house edge, about $10 per $1,000 wagered
- Three risk levels and 8 to 16 lines
- Manual and Auto bet modes
- Free official demo available
Cons
- No volatility label or max win in our catalogue or in the studio text
- No bonus features beyond the settings
- The odds of the cells are not published
Verdict
Easter Plinko is a plain, seasonal version of an old TV game: drop a ball, read the cell value, adjust the risk level and line count. Its 99% RTP is its main number, a 1% house edge that works out to about $10 per $1,000 wagered. With no volatility rating or top win in the sources, the free demo is the best way to see how the three risk levels change the board.
