Rocket Dice review

Rocket Dice asks one question per roll: will two dice add up to more or less than the number you chose? BGaming released it in 2018, and the studio describes the idea as neat, clean and built for leisure. A dice cup holds two dice, each face runs from 1 to 6, and you pick a number from 2 to 12 along with over or under. Win a roll and an optional Risk mode opens, offering a 50/50 chance to double the prize.

How a roll is settled

You place a bet, choose a number from 2 to 12 and decide whether the roll will be over or under it. Two dice are then rolled and the points on the top faces are added together. The result either matches your call or it does not.

Payouts and their multipliers are listed in the paytable, which sits in the game rules. The text we have does not reproduce that table, so we cannot give the multiplier for a given number. A Take button lets you collect your winnings after each roll.

The Risk mode

This is a separate step offered after every winning roll.

Risk mode

It opens a separate field with a 50/50 chance of increasing the win. You select 3 of 6 numbers, and the dice are rolled. If the result matches one of your numbers, the prize is doubled. If it does not, the studio text we have does not say what happens, so check the rules in the demo.

Take

The Take button lets you take your winnings after each roll. The studio text does not say more about it than that.

Autoplay and the record table

In Autoplay you either set a number of rolls or choose an endless game, and a Stop button ends the run. The game also has a record table with the results of all the rolls. The studio hopes it helps players develop a strategy, but each roll of two dice is independent, so a table of past results cannot change what the next roll does.

What the numbers say

The catalogue lists a single RTP of 99%, so the house edge is 1%. That is about $10 per $1,000 wagered over a long run. For 100 rolls, the average cost is $0.20 at a $0.20 bet, $1 at $1 and $5 at $5, which is $500 wagered.

The catalogue labels the volatility Low and does not publish a max win. The studio text does not state a top multiplier either, only that bigger bets can bring a generous one. The text does not give an RTP for Risk mode separately, so 99% is the only figure we can quote.

Each roll is random and independent. Which number you pick or how long you play does not change the 1% edge, and Risk mode is a further gamble, not a way to recover losses.

Pros

  • Simple choice: a number from 2 to 12 and over or under
  • 99% RTP gives a house edge of only 1%
  • Autoplay with a set number of rolls or an endless run
  • Free official demo available

Cons

  • No max win or top multiplier published
  • Risk mode is an extra gamble on a 50/50 chance

Verdict

Rocket Dice is a bare-bones dice game: over or under, a number from 2 to 12 and a Take button. The 99% RTP and 1% house edge are the main figures, and the Low volatility label fits the plain format. Risk mode adds a 50/50 doubling step after a win, and no max win is published. It is paid entertainment, and the demo is a good way to check the paytable first.
