Mines review
Mines by Spribe is a tile-opening game on a 5x5 grid of 25 tiles. You choose how many mines are hidden, open tiles one by one and can cash out after any safe tile. The listed RTP is 97%, a 3% house edge. Spribe does not publish a volatility rating or a max multiplier, and its demo states a maximum win of 10,000 USD per bet. Spribe runs an official free demo on its own site (spribe.co); it does not play on this page.
How to play Mines
The board is a 5x5 grid, so there are 25 tiles. Before a round starts you pick how many mines are hidden among them. Spribe states that more mines mean a higher payout for each safe tile.
You then open tiles one at a time. Every star you find raises the payout multiplier. After any safe tile you may cash out and keep the multiplier reached so far. If you open a mine instead, the round ends at once and the bet is lost.
So each round is a chain of tile choices, and you decide how long the chain goes. Spribe does not describe how the board is generated beyond the mine count you choose.
Mines count and auto play
Two settings define the experience. One is chosen before the round, the other speeds it up.
Number of mines
You set how many mines are hidden on the 25-tile grid. Each mine takes one tile away from the safe pool, and Spribe pays a higher multiplier for each safe tile when there are more mines. The setting changes the size of the steps, and it also changes how often a tile ends the round.
Auto play
Auto play lets you pick tiles in advance, so the game opens them for you instead of you clicking each one. It saves time, and it also makes rounds faster, which matters for how much you wager over a session.
Mines demo: on the studio's site
Spribe runs an official free Mines demo on its own site; it does not play on this page. It is the easiest way to see how the grid, the star counter and the cash-out button behave.
A demo result tells you nothing about what the next real round will do. The only limit it names is a 10,000 USD win per bet, which Spribe says is set by the operator.
Mines RTP and house edge
One RTP is on record: 97%. That leaves the house 3%, or about $30 kept per $1,000 wagered across many rounds. That figure does not change with the number of mines you choose, because it is an average over all rounds.
A cheap bet does not mean a cheap session if rounds are quick. One hundred rounds at $0.20 means $20 wagered and about $0.60 lost on average. At $1 it is $100 wagered and about $3, and at $5 it is $500 wagered and about $15.
Mines max win
No max multiplier is published for Mines in the material we use. The only ceiling Spribe states is the one in the demo: 10,000 USD per bet, with limits set by the operator.
Because the multiplier grows with every safe tile and with the mine count, the size of a payout depends on choices you make. The 97% RTP does not depend on them.
Mines is random every time
A new round is not influenced by an earlier one. Safe tiles in one round do not make the next board safer, and no tile-opening habit or cash-out point changes the long-run return. We do not suggest a system or a safe number of tiles, because none exists.
Play it as paid entertainment with a 3% house edge, within a limit you set beforehand.
Pros
- Clear rules on a 5x5 grid of 25 tiles
- You set the number of mines before each round
- RTP of 97%, a house edge of 3%
- Auto play lets you pick tiles in advance
Cons
- Volatility and max multiplier are not published
- Auto play makes rounds quicker, so more is wagered per minute
- Opening one mine ends the round and loses the bet
Verdict
Mines by Spribe is easy to read: a 5x5 grid, a mine count you choose and a cash-out button after every safe tile. The 97% RTP and 3% house edge apply whatever mine count you pick. Volatility and a max multiplier are not published. Use Spribe's free Mines demo to see the pace, and keep in mind that every round is independent.
